Story

Located just minutes from downtown, The Waterfront Café is housed in a historic landmark coach house attached to one of the few remaining mansions that once lined Chicago’s Lakefront. The Waterfront Café sits in the middle of beautiful Berger Park and is perfect for intimate gatherings up to 100 guests. Our outside patio features live entertainment on weekend and features breathtaking lake views.

No impressed by the food. Not a lot of options: mostly sandwiches and fried stuff. I ordered the crab meat cakes, and they were good (probably the only thing I would order again). Based solely on food, I'd give it 2-3 star max. However, this place is all about the view. It is amazing!!! You are right in front of the lake, and honestly it makes for a beautiful environment for relaxed conversation during the day, and drinks in the afternoon

I'd love to tell you about the food, but since no server ever approached us, we didn't stick around to find out.

The host was friendly and greeted us and seated us promptly, but then we sat. And sat. And sat. Meanwhile, the staff walked past us repeatedly and looked over at us numerous times but never once approached us to say hello or take our order. When another table was seated right beside us and a server approached them almost immediately after we'd been waiting for about 15 minutes, we left.

The view is beautiful, but the service is atrocious. There's only so much pretty scenery can make up for.

Super delicious food and excellent service. It's a really nice spot with some very cool summer/beach vibes. I'm honestly surprised it's not more popular.

I was served stale fries but the sandwich definitely made up for it. There's a hint of lemon (maybe lime) in the chicken sandwich which I've never had before— it was superrrr delish.

Definitely coming back before winter hits us.

Location is Perfect for the feel of complete serenity. The food is Excellent !!  I absolutely love the presentation of the food as well. I don't have any negative comments about Waterfront Cafe ... It's ALWAYS my favorite part of Summer !!

The food tastes like it was bought in bulk, fast food type place. Nice view. Haven't had the drinks.
