The therapy I received helped my back pain, but the pain was then transferred to my wallet. Make sure you ask up front what the fees are for new consults and then the follow up therapy sessions. Then call your insurance company to verify what they pay. I didn't do this and got charged for a new consult for my back (which is fine), but then made the mistake of mentioning my shoulder was also hurting. Just like that, I was charged with another $160.00 new consult fee! Had I known that would have occurred, the shoulder could have waited. I imagine they figure insurance would cover it, but guess what...they didn't as the deductible had not been met. Throw in the charge for the shoulder therapy and after only 2 visits, I was stuck with paying out of pocket approximately $300.00. I talked with the office twice and wrote a letter to the parent company (asking to waive the final $53.46)....all of which went on deaf ears. Like I said, the therapy is good, but know what you'll be paying up front before you commit to service.

Came to Therapeutic Associates for chronic knee pain that wouldn't go away no matter what I tried. The front desk girl said that my first 20 visits were covered entirely by my insurance, but received a $500 bill a couple months later with charges for minor add-ons. I second what the reviewer below said: make sure you check what Therapeutic Assoc. charges for each session/ service and double check with your insurance what percentage they will cover of it. I mentioned that I read my knee pain could be caused by the arches in my foot and received a bill for both knee and feet services--even though your lower extremity is entirely connected and thusly the knee joint is affected by any disturbance in the hips or feet. While I do appreciate that they tried other techniques beyond the traditional therapy exercises with bands, it turns out that I actually did not need these additional painful methods. At the time I thought I was receiving great service and accepted that the intense pain I was going through with myofascial release techniques was fully worth it. Although it did provide temporary pain relief, it did not fix my knee pain and a month later I was back to square one. I ended up seeing Dr. Scheffel from Idaho Sports Medicine Institute, who referred me to Jay at ISMI for physical therapy. Within 10 minutes, Jay knew exactly what was going on and immediately said it an issue within my hips causing the knee pain. He said it is a very common thing and sees it almost everyday. I did two sessions of physical therapy at ISMI and now do the exercises on my own. I am currently 100% pain free, even on days when I do not do the exercises. Jay's comment of this being a common issue, made me second guess the service I received at Therapeutic Associates. The $500 bill made me write this review. Therapeutic Associates did try very hard to figure out the cause of the pain for me and were proactive in their search, but in the end I wasted $500 and went through immense pain, to just spend more money on another doctor later on. Some of their staff are very friendly, but others can actually be quite rude. Perhaps my experience with ISMI's physical therapy is isolated and they just happened to know this issue very well, but I would never go back to Therapeutic Assoc. After my ISMI sessions, I googled the things Jay discussed and was able to fully understand the condition and trouble shoot accordingly. I basically learned more from google than Therapeutic Assoc., just my experience though.

I was referred here by an orthopedic clinic for severe shoulder/neck pain. After living with the pain for two weeks I sought care at Therapeutic Associates. I found the staff to be very professional, responsive, and helpful. Melanie in particular did a great job assessing and correcting my condition while teaching me stretches and exercises to assist in my recovery. After three visits in as many weeks I'm pain free and able to resume my regular activity.
