This is a review regarding the hospital gift shop. I'm from Adamsville, AL & have family there at Thomas Hosp. I called the gift shop and a most pleasant voice answered. Her name is Betty. She went to some extra trouble for me, was very gracious, and is definitely an asset to the place. She even took the time to text me a photo of the gift w/o being asked and it's perfect! Jack H

The entire staff needs to do a better job of handling patients that are hard of hearing.  You are asking patients that can not hear  to make life and death decisions without taking the time to make sure they hear and understand what they are being told.  The solution seems pretty simple.  Have the patient repeat what you tell them.  It's not hard.  It just takes a little extra time.

The triage staff was outstanding. The nurse I actually dealt with in the back was rude , treated me as if I was a drug seeker, and had an overall attitude problem. I was there because I was scared and her actions did not make it better. I also choose this hospital because it is the better of the two. Never again will I come to Thomas. If I want to be treated like I am trash I will go to mobile . . Thanks for making some one feel worse.

The nurse did not know to change the needle to an appropriate size.  She had to push the needle with so much force that the skin popped when it finally broke through.  She then degraded my daughter about her age and how she handled the shot.  After dealing with not being able to do anything about the nurse that has caused my daughter fear of hospitals and nurses.  I was billed for thousands of dollars that I did not owe.  I had to refile repeatedly.  They kept making the same mistakes on the insurance claims. I did get it corrected but for months I worried if this hospital was going to get away with it.

Excellent care & bedside! My 5 year old daughter possibly needed stitches while here visiting family. When we arrived & signed in, there was no wait getting vitals etc. on the check in. Once those were complete we were taken straight to an exam room. Thankfully, we got away without being stitched and only needed glue! My 4 year old was in tow as well. They were more than kind & time permitting, acknowledged & answered the kids many questions and statements. Overall time spent there was maybe an hour and a half!!!!!  I don't recall any emergency room trips ever being this fast anywhere else. (Waiting Room to Exam Room)Thank you for guys for getting us glued back together and out the door!!!!!
