My family’s business recently purchased a used Kenworth from Thompson Truck Center. It turned out to have several issues. After 3 extra days of taking care of the issues and me second guessing buying the truck, Richard and Johnny worked tirelessly to fix the issues. It became a real headache but these two put the truck first and treated my wife and me with respect and compassion. Thompson’s is lucky to have guys like this in todays work force. I would also like to thank Tim for all his kindness and getting us lunch while we waited for repairs! Thanks guys!!
Had a great experience here at Thompson truck center. The salemans even picked me up from airport which was a big plus and was very much appreciated at end of day. I was allowed to drive the truck and see how it rides and they was willing to fix anything that was wrong at the time also. I would definitely purchase another truck from them if i had to buy another one. Great trucks they have in stock and great mechanics they have on site. They also one of the last companies who make gliders at this location. I see all the motors they were swapping out and putting them in pete and KW bodies. Actually KW doesnt allow them to use they body any more for glider kits. If you ever in Memphis be sure to check them out for all your truck needs im sure you wont go wrong at all. Tell them sho stoppa transportation sent you
We purchased a truck here from Mr. Jake Wakefield. We would like to publicly say that the customer service and relationship building is unmatched. We initially wanted to purchase elsewhere but found this place instead. They met all of our business needs, but the best part of all was the communication and relationship building. I've purchased several gliders from the these guysfrom other deals that had fallen through mind you Ordered a brand new glider from these clowns on 10/2017. Put money down, didn't get a sales contract until 1/2018. Signed all the paperwork and we waited, and waited, and waited for it. For almost a year...THEN!!! I get a call from their sales guy who says "Sorry, we messed up. You owe us $10k more!" Who does that? We offered to meet halfway and they wouldn't budge. I'll never purchase anything from these clowns again. Sounds like someone is "getting a deal" on the the truck that we ordered. It appears that is their company model. I'll be sharing my horrible experience with every other trucking company that I know. Hopefully, I get my 10k deposit back...I'll let you know....
Bought what started out as a nice truck, first trip 250 miles get a warning light. Went to Freightliner NOC sensor bad $1200. Tested regen, have to replace the One Box also$11,000. Second trip lost oil pressure, had to replace orings in oil pumpnot covered by warranty I purchased. $880 to replace. Third trip noticed lost 2 1/2 gallon of oil, thought it was loose oil pan gasket but ended up #3 cylinder no compression was pushing it through blow by canister. May have to rebuild motor. Truck had 556,00 miles on it when I bought it, it now has 560,000 on it. Also had to replace bunk blower motor $200 which was running constant. Which killed the cheap batteries that were out of warranty $650 to replace. Biggest piece of junk ever. Do not buy here warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on, unless you want to buy a new Fitzgerald glider for $135k. Found out that 5 cylinders are galled, not covered by warranty, $14,000 to fix
They sold me a truck that only drove for 4 days and went down for engine issues and I am being asked to pay $10k to get this fixed. I called Thompson Truck and no one was willing to help. They did say they were going to talk with the manager and reach back out but never did.
