If I could give a negative rating, I would. Went there with family to enjoy a weekend at the bike track. Lady on the phone was terribly rude. When I arrived, I tried to make conversation but again rude. She asked me"Can you back that thing in there"? I was like yea, I drove a truck when I was going and now I fly helicopters. I think I got this. Full of full time campers but they were friendly. The management staff is the most rude people I've dealt with. They don't even want you there. Please go someplace else. Campground was just plain nasty. Never again will I go there. I will park at the motocross track next time.

As a listing on Passport America I thought the campground would be of a certain standard. This park is old; poorly maintained and trashy in appearance.

I came to camp out at Thunder Gulch in Bunnell 4 times in a row 7-24-15 .I could NOT ever catch NOONE in the office to make arrangements 11:00 , 1:25. 3:10, 4:30 empty!Came bk few days later finally caught someone NOT very nice person , a skinny woman long hair ,looked high , very snobby, no smiles, NOT helpful very RUDE PERSON to handle management ... So I decided to ride through the park check things out first before making my decision after that rudeness . NASTINESS on mostly all the camp sites ! People living there for long time clothes, trash, junk cars, lawn mowers mattresses just JUNK piled all up around the rvs or campers unbelievable . If gonna live there clean the campsites up instead trashy looking . Dogs at just about every camp site tied up outside in hot sun (mostly pit bulls ) be veryyyy careful if you got kids and stay there cause alot of them dogs are just chained up outside or running around and in the field no leashes even that rude woman has one also rides with her on a golf cart no leash very scary ! I seen small kids on end of the camp site that was playing in drive way by them self no ADULTS in care of them children they could easy wounder off and fall in water that has no fence around it at all ! Showers wow NASTY shower need cleaning daily & can see through doors when go to undress to shower I could never shower in them ! washerette only good thing I seen there sept needs to be maintained as dusting and sweeping and how about a big fan in there for them people (hence the state FLORIDA) and how about a gym set for the small kids with a fence around it so it can be locked at night for safety. No wonder parents inside sleeping under the air and their tiny kids in traffic a playing !!! and way too many tents set up on alot of the lots with just junk under them !! they should only be 1 to lot but I see some with 2 or 3 taking up alot of space and even tents set up like they live there for long time and have small kids they alot that needs to be checked into there , kids in roads no adults, kids in tents for long periods of time, kids living in small campers if outside looks like trash with all the junk I can only imagine the insides I am in just WOW ! But I hear the owners are very generous people , but their management helps is the worse around there and that I believe I done met with her ! Get a new management helper before they lose alot of people someone who is willing to be in the office til 5 and not looking high and very rude !! Cause like me LOST my business when I had about 6 other campers with rvs to stay a wk but we took our business elsewhere and found a friendly, clean, non pit bull camp ground and veryyyyy caring management !! oh we checked out the black cloud on way out and had a drink and lunch VERYYYYYYYYYY NICEEEEEEE & very generous people I would reccomend them any time !! AWESOME FOOD BUT campsite needs NEW MANAGEMENT PERSON that cares about the PEOPLE when the owners are NOT around ! Thanks maybe in another life time ! or we all will come bk when they a new management there and some cleaning up done around them sites even grass is awful !! leaves spots here and there when I seen alot could still been cut and around stuff LAZY management people cause I hear the ones that are there there stay high, drunk, lazy think owners need be more AWARE what going on and find new people who care ??? just awful just awful just awful !!!! Have a nice day !

We arrived around 10:00 Friday night. We had reservations and had given a credit card for payment at an agreed price of $25.00 a head. When we checked in it was $30.00 a head, We called and talked to the person that took the reservation and was told it was $30.00. The person then asked the question "I have been here for 4 years, why would I tell you $25.00?" I have a few thoughts on that ranging from 1. bait and switch, 2. dementia of some sort, 3. a demenished capacity for professionalism, 4. the attitude of "TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT" which is why we left Bulow after 4 years. Its 10:30, we are tired and it is only $5.00 a head so we pay it. Wilderness camping, no set sites, water was about 100 yards away, in all fairness we were offered a site with water and electrity for only $4.00 a head more. The showers were another 100 yards past the water faucet, total distance from site was 200 yards. The bar was very nice in decor, we had breakfast Saturday morning, service was substandard, won't eat there again. The server was serving us and working on getting the bar set up and other various side work. Overall - High Prices, poor service, bad food, one of our party was unable to even eat the scrambled eggs, tasted like a combination of powdered eggs and rancid grease, The person that manned the front office seemed unknowledgeable about what was going on, we called her several times. The "Large Lighted Sign" in front of the campsite she refered to was large, but the 1/3 of the sign that said "Thunder Gulch was not lit. Thunder Gulch was and addendum to the bar sign and in much smaller print. Saturday nights band was good, albeit late in starting by almost 40 minutes. When we called the front desk to inquire we were told "They are supposed to start at 8:00 pm" Don't you think that if you ran a campground and a bar that you would have the professionalism to know what and when things were happening and not just "supposed" to happen? All in all, we hope that this was just a learning experiance for Thunder Gulch and that it will get better. We had heard such nice things about how the people that owned Bulow, back when it was fun, had sold it and had moved to Thunder Gulch. We really were hoping for a different attitude than 2 years ago when we stopped going to Biketoberfest because of the "TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT" attitude everyone seemed to have. Suggestion - Confirm your reservation - make sure you get the name of the person you speak to - have them run your card and give you a confirmation number. We did all that and still got the bait and switch. We stayed there Friday night and Saturday night, we were on a tight schedule and did not have time to search out something else. But we do now! Do yourself a favor and be very weary of this campsite. The staff was not discourteus just incompetent.
