I went in to TMC because they are considered the best in Tucson for delivery. My doctors were from Cross Roads OBGYN I received horrible care from my doctors there but also very poor post-partum care from TMC. Due to my renal failure and fever during birth I was required (held prisoner) to stay in patient for 6 days. During this time my room was never cleaned, the nurses were hostile and threatening. I literally would be begging to know what was going on (I am a microbiologist for oncology and understand my labs) and no one would tell me anything. The nurses at first stated my baby was going through renal failure so I believed that for the first 3 days. It was not until I broke down crying to the pediatrician and told her to print out all labs and give them to me as I had no idea what was happening. The pediatrician finally cleared everything up for me (please note that not until the third day did my baby see a MD before that it was nurse practitioners and PA’s). The first night nurse that treated my baby and I was mean and aggressive, my baby had jaundice, I would sit there all day with a bottle in his mouth but he would not eat. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong or I was not feeding him appropriately, she would threaten me that if my baby would not eat she would take him away from me and put him in NICU. My labor was fine and have no real complaints with that, but everything after delivery was horrible. There must be something thing wrong if a mother can say that the labor and delivery was the most pleasurable part of the entire experience.
