If you have been here, know people who have gone here, or just read some other reviews, you know the pattern here: people come, are satisfied with the medical staff, and then never return due to the complete incompetence and/or fraudulent activity of the billing department. This place will swear up and down that you/your insurance provider have not made payment, no matter the various forms of proof of payment you possess. They will try to wear you down, calling weekly or more, hoping that eventually you will just pay them the money that they are most certainly not entitled to. Do not give these people your money, and if you already have, get out before they take advantage of you (they probably already have).

Really enjoyed the doctor that I had and the staff were very friendly. However, their billing department is horrible. The called me initially after my first visit to go over insurance and charges. I thought that was great they did that. On my second visit, I met with the doctor and then a tech came in and went over the charges and splint I’d need. Well, they wanted me to pay $1200 when I’d pick up the splint in a couple weeks-and that cost was the splint and X-rays (which mind you I have been paying already ) or appx $650 when I pick up and then two installments... that they automatically withdraw from an account! Those were my two options in order to get my splint? Otherwise, I could not get it!? Besides that, initially when I talked to the billing department when they called me, they NEVER mentioned either of those two types of options. Just that yes, I can make monthly payments if that is what I’d like. I never signed the sheet my second visit agreeing to the payments in order to get my splint because of the misinformation I was told. Plus, I have already been paying down my balance (which they didn’t even know themselves and even got wrong what my first bill was... that I already paid...and what they told me when I was in the office that second visit. Let’s put it this way, I do not recommend this place strictly because of the billing department. Not because of the service you get from medical staff. So, in the mean time I’m sitting here with my TMJ while going to try to find another doctor and just pay my bill off to this place and be done-which I also forgot to mention, they cashed a check of mine and never applied the payment and the billing department keeps calling me quite frequently.

Despite the good reviews, my girlfriend had a terrible experience here. On the first visit Dr. Mackman had horrible patient interaction as he did nothing to calm my girlfriend. She was already feeling bad about the situation and he only added fuel to the fire. I overlooked this initially, but on subsequent visits he used a very condescending tone and tried to threaten my girlfriend with surgery. Being a medical professional myself made the entire experience very disappointing. Not only this but the privacy they give patients is laughable as you could hear Dr. Mackman talking about the case loudly in the waiting room. As far as the building itself, it felt dirty and dingy. The office is in depserate need of attention and care. If you have a TMJ problem I would recommend you take your business elsewhere.

I came to Dr Tache (located at 3132 Van Roy Rd in Appleton, WI as a referral from my dentist at Dental Associates. I told them that my jaw was not opening all the way and I had extreme jaw pain. Dr Tache quickly diagnosed me with TMJ and possible sleep apnea. I didn't even know the two were connected. Dr Tache has a very funny sense of humor and makes me laugh. He is very friendly and just makes you feel comfortable and makes you feel like he really wants to help you get well. After being fitted with a splint for my jaw and roughly a week later my sleep miraculously improved. This was a bonus that I didn't expect. No longer was I walking around in a daze for at lease 2 years prior to meeting Dr Tache due to lack of sleep. So I came to him for my jaw problem and he fixed that over time but then also fixed my sleep apnea which I didn't even know I had. By wearing the splint at night it pushes my jaw forward while sleeping to open my airway. I am so grateful to Dr Tache and his wife Kathy (who runs the office) for helping me get well again and feel extremely rested each and every day.

I've been seeing Dr. Mackman for years, can't even remember how long it's been! He's wonderful and I love going back each year for my yearly visits to catch up. When I first started, things seemed to be going well. I was doing great, then all of a sudden, had a huge flare up and big setback. Through it all, Dr. Mackman and everyone in his office were great! He got me in right away and immediately took care of me, from office appointments and getting me right up to physical therapy. It was amazing and I truly am thankful for the time and effort that went into my recovery during that setback. Now I'm on yearly checkups and my jaw feels amazing. No more popping, clicking, or headaches. I would recommend him to anyone, in fact, I have. My mom currently sees him and absolutely adores him as well.
