My husband, our family friend and our little Maltese dog staid at Tobermory Village Campground in August 2017, while I with my daughter were visiting my parents back in Belarus. We have been planning to go camping to Tobermory for several years, however, were always late to book any provincial park campsites. Finally, our friend invited us to visit this private campsite and my husband went there to investigate this location for further family trips. His first impression was good. He even called me on facetime, showed location: it looked nice and clean. Later in the evening my husband, his friend and our little dog were sitting around the fireplace. An employee of this campsite approached them, said that they are too loud and that they HAVE TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY (it was 11 p.m. and there were no any warnings or complaints before his visit)!!!! Then he took their permit and tried to rip it, while my husband took it from him. The guy started videotaping them and left a campsite. He came back with a group of crazy looking hicks, who were apparently also employees. While they were coming towards my husband our tiny dog started barking and one of the guys kicked him very strongly in the stomach!!! My dog flew away a couple of meters and was not able to get up. The guy who did it immediately ran away. Our family friend called the police. When police came they told that the owners of that campsite have been known to be very aggressive. My husband and our friend had to pack up in the dark in order to drive to a local veterinarian. Long story short: after 5 days in the hospital and surgery that cost us thousands of dollars our dog is ok now (Thank God!). Owners of the campsite neither apologized nor returned money for our horrible stay there. We are very busy people so have not been able to open a legal case against them yet, however it is definitely coming. So please don't go to this campsite, it is VERY UNSAFE. I looked back through reviews of this campsite: similar stories had happened to some people visiting this place. These owners are very aggressive. As a person with a degree in psychology, I know that people who act violently towards animals are much more likely to act violently towards people.

Excellent place to camp with a family! It is a 3 minute drive from downtown Tobermory which is a huge bonus. We have two younger kids (4 and 7) and the campground was perfect for entertaining them. The pool is clean and has a good size shallow end. The splash pad is also pretty large. They have pedal go-karts which you can rent at a reasonable price ($10/hr) to cruise around the park in. They have a nice playground as well. The sites have lots of privacy and are large. Definitely recommend staying here!

Tobermory Village Campground is a bit on the strict side and a bit of a penny pinching camp ground but our week long vaction here was very comfortable and the kids were busy everyday! I felt we had a decent location for our 24 foot trailer compaired to a lot of other spots (we were near the enterence). Having areas for kids to keep busy was a major bonus! Activities like the inground pool, petting zoo, two ponds all made this worth it, plus lots of families!!!!! Our boys loved the ping pong tables most!

We have been coming to Tobermory Village Campground & Cabins for years now and for the past 2 years we have a seasonal site here. The Park is very well kept and the washrooms are always clean! This is an excellent family Campground to stay at with tons of property for walks, lots of areas to sit and relax around the ponds and several play areas for your children! The splash pad is also a great feature for both young and old. Lastly, there are even peddle boats, kayaks and a canoe that you can use on the front camp pond. If you are looking for a quiet family Campground to stay at, this is the perfect place!

I've gone to this campsite for more summers than I can count. Too bad the owners are quite inconsiderate and will not accommodate. Truly disappointed that they have been so stubborn and not helpful, but what can you do- the demand for campsites are there, and they will be just fine without my business.
