We were looking for a contractor to help remodel 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a small bar area and replace all the flooring and paint our downstairs. After reading Tony’s reviews, we thought he would be the best fit for us, but had to do our due diligence and contacted 5 other contractors. 3 never called back, 1 charged $300 just to come do an estimate, and the last guys estimate was way over our budget. There are 3 main reasons why I will work with Tony again and am happy to recommend him. 1) He won’t nickle and dime you. His estimates are clear and prices reasonable, and if there’s a minor change or additional work that needs to be done, often he’ll complete it without charging. He replaced the upstairs bathroom window and added laminate flooring to the small steps that connect our garage to the house, all without charge. I’ve heard horror stories of contractors that for every little change or unexpected issue that comes up, they add it to the contract and the cost just racks up. This didn’t happen with Tony. 2) His guys work hard and do a good job. Young, was with our project the entire time and did an excellent job on the tile work in our bathrooms. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is top notch. Furthermore, they were at our house from 9am to 5pm every weekday and often Saturdays, working on the project, keeping it on and usually ahead of schedule. 3) Tony really cares about customer satisfaction. There would be minor things we caught for example, a paint edge wasn’t quite as clean, a certain tile had a stain and we wanted to use another one - and we just had to mention it to Tony and his crew and they would happily fix it. Communication was very good, as Tony is quick to return emails or calls during the work. After the project was finished he even paid for some professional cleaners to come clean every room we remodeled, all free of charge! It just goes to show you how much Tony cares. Please keep in mind however, that our remodel did not involve structural changes. We did not need to knock any walls down, or add square footage. Even the kitchen layout was kept mostly the same. However, I know Tony’s team has done it all so don’t hesitate to contact him for projects more complicated than ours. Also, keep in mind that we didn’t expect Tony to do everything. There were times where I purchased materials and he would reimburse me. The wife and I went ourselves to the tile shops and paint stores to choose materials and paint colors. We worked with the cabinet provider ourselves to design the kitchen. Tony was available to answer questions, but he didn’t physically go shopping with us, although he probably will if you want him to. However, given how busy he is, we preferred to do it ourselves and save him time so that our project could start sooner and finish sooner. All I’m saying is, we were proactive in designing our remodel and making sure materials were ready so that the project went smoothly. There are contractors that will hold your hand through everything (design, shopping, etc.) but your project will likely cost way more and take way longer. Overall, I am so happy to found Tony and avoided all those horror stories of working with contractors. I highly recommend him and plan on using him again for our master bathroom later down the line.

We really enjoyed working closely with Tony Tran on modeling our existing bathroom (please see my review back in May) that my husband and I decided to ask Tony if he would be so kind to also accept our request to build a second bathroom to the house. Although the North Bay would be a horrendous drive for Tony and his crew, he wanted to help us make our dream home come true as we welcoming our newborn into the world. As a result, he kindly asked me, “why don’t you send me your dream house wish list and I will try my best to make it come true”. I was overjoyed and quickly emailed him my dream house wish list. Tony analyzed the project and responded kindly with suggestions how he could help make the dream house come true. On top of that, the best approach to complete the project while minimizing the cost of the renovation. We truly appreciate all Tony’s help as he went out of his way to save us money on the designing cost as well as the electrician cost. Moreover, my heart was touched when Tony woke up really early to drive to San Rafael to seek a permit for a bathroom addition for us. During the morning drive, he would be stuck in the terrible traffic from San Francisco 19th street, crossing to the Golden Gate, followed by the Richmond Bridge. Yet, Tony waited patiently three hours more at the Marin County until the senior building planner approved the permit. This took him the whole day by the time he makes it back to his house in San Jose. As you can see, Tony’s kindness, industrious, and perseverance are simply what makes him so wonderful to work with, and my husband and I truly admire him in so many ways. One more memory about Tony that I would like to share with the community so that you can have the chance to understand this special person as you undergo your contractor selecting process. One night, I called Tony to have an update on the inspection process for the additional bathroom, it was passed 8:00 PM, and I asked if he had a chance to eat dinner yet. He gently laughed over the phone, and said, “My wife and brother-in-law made filet mignon steak at home and waiting for me to join them, but I would have to miss that delicious steak and glass of red wine tonight.” The reason being that Tony just got back to my house after rushing to Home Depot in San Rafael to buy paints. He wanted to do some last minutes touch ups and clean up the area and fixing some loose ends before the inspector arrives the next day. This is Tony’s working style; before the inspection test, he would spend time preparing the place in good conditions, making sure that everything seems spotless before the inspector arrives. This is a common practice that Tony put a lot of efforts in, and he often, and always, passing the inspection process with flying colors. My husband and I are very grateful for Tony’s commitment to making our dream home come true. He is simply the very best kind out there, and I highly recommend him if you are doing your home renovation. Please look at the details in the bathroom design he put together along with his craftsmanship. My sister loves my new bathroom so much that she asked me if I could ask him to fly to Boston to do her bathrooms in a luxury high-end condo for her. Additionally, my architect friend who works at a prestigious architecture firm in San Francisco looked at his work, and also impressed by his craftsmanship!

I hired Tony Tran Construction to remodel my bathroom and Kitchen. The house is over thirty years old and we raised a lot of children in that house. Tony Tran was up to the challenge from the very start. I am very pleased with the end results. Working with Tony and his crew has been a very pleasant experience. His attention for detail is excellent. I can only say positive things about Tony's work. The floors look fantastic. He replaced the floors in two bathrooms, the foyer, laundry room and the kitchen. I am so proud of my floors now. In the Kitchen he installed quartz counter tops, recessed light, and new appliances. In addition, he refinished my old kitchen cabinets and they look better than when they were new. In the guest bathroom, he replaced the shower stall with quartz surround panels, replaced the toilet, the sink, the tub, and painted the walls. Again, his attention to detail is very much appreciated. For example, he installed ADA compliant grab bars in the bathroom, and reinforced the towel rack. Thank you Tony for the great work you do.
