I'd imagined that their predecessor Stop & Shop was lousy, and lousy it surely was, but Tops takes the (moldy) cake.  They pride themselves on the high quality and freshness of their food, especially of their produce, though this last rots within 24 hours of purchasing it, while their canned and boxed goods have already rotted before one even buys them, their fake expiration dates notwithstanding.  Similarly, they pride themselves on what they deem a fine and wide selection of foods but in fact the choices that they offer, both brand name and their own, are exceedingly limited, as well as being grossly overpriced, in comparison with those of their competitors.  Their service, too, is execrable, to say the least.  Their employees are lazy, insolent, insulting, and ignorant, particularly when it comes to processing transactions.  For instance, this afternoon I attempted to pay for $10.32 worth of goods with my Visa credit card and, though I have a credit line of $25,000, my purchases were rejected three times before a sullen and irritable cashier nonchalantly finally entered the correct information and with not the slightest hint of an apology for prolonging such a minor purchase by half an hour.  Added to these unlovely drawbacks is the fact that their employees look upon every single customer as a potential shoplifter, which is hardly surprising, considering that their prices are themselves so criminally exorbitant and that they routinely charge their customers the full price for items which are supposed to be on sale, even and especially when one presents one's so-called bonus card.  This operation is nothing more nor less than legal thievery and is rendered even more insupportable by the extremely substandard quality of their merchandise.  If you are seeking wholesome and healthy food at a reasonable price, this is most assuredly not the supermarket at which to shop.        .

Tops prices are competitive with other markets in area. I find Tops has great sale prices/ deals. Employees are friendly and helpful. As for someone's comment about electric handi cap shopping carts, there actually are 2 of them. 
I really like their type of gas program.

First time shopper and I was very impressed by how clean and stocked the store was. The prices were very competitive. I will shop there again

Even though I work there, I can say it's a excellent store to shop. Great deals on certain items like, buy two, get three free, buy two, get four free. Plus, playing the Monopoly game is great when you buy special items for the game.

The employees are very nice and helpful.and when there are sale prices they are usually pretty good. Definitely recommend checking out.
