Wast of time, tax payers money, and overall dipleased. We were offered a 1% reduction at the informal, how generous...NOT! See you in arbitration and now TCAD/taxpayers have to pay the $500 fee when you lose because your bureaucratic system is bloated and disregards blatent economic obsolescence.

One star is generous. They may be helpful with some aspects of property ownership, i.e., Homestead Exemptions, etc., but God help you if you expect to get any help in protesting your property appraisal, especially if you are doing it on your own without the help of a professional. Property is appraised by them, sight unseen, using comps that are often inappropriate but they will not give you any credibility. They will not listen to you and if they do lower your appraisal, it is only by a pittance, just to get you to go away. They are not interested in giving you a fair appraisal. They are only interested in maximizing appraised values and thus your taxes and getting you out of their hair. Shameful, disingenuous behavior.

This agency will appraise your property without having any idea what property you even have. They will mail you an appraisal document to fill out in good faith and in return they will ignore that document and they will come up with their own appraisal, again without even having any idea what property you even have. They will expect you to dispute the value ON YOUR PROPERTY and take up even more of YOUR TIME by forcing you to go to a hearing. This agency makes many demands for money on property that they know nothing about. Do they operate in good faith? It does not seem so…

Three people at the desk were helping me simultaneously, yes I appreciate there willingness to help - but nobody could answer questions I had regarding my appraisal. After giving me a number to call with an extension, I stepped out of the office and called the number to discover the extension was wrong... I gave 2 stars for the workers kindness and willingness, however I expect a better value add service for the increasingly high property taxes we pay in Austin.

Good example of government place for the people. Protested my property tax, Rod explained the appraisal method, while listened to my appeal, very efficient and nice to help get the reasonable value.
