The General Manager there has done wonders for the store.  I is a friendly and inviting environment.

Great staff. They have all the information regarding what type of riding will do. General manager Matt helped me out the first time to get fitted. Great exchange on my purchase from a hard tail to a nice full suspension bike. If you have questions on mountain biking talk to Henry or Ricky. Already bought my wife a bike and so did my aunt.

I was the only customer in the shop today, and when I walked in, one of the four guys standing around greeted me right away, so that was the reason good enough for two stars. I acknowledged the younger guy, and politely let him know that I'd let him know if I needed any help. It was after that when the owner (older, bald-headed guy...Matt, maybe?) came over to assist me. He had to be one of the most rude, arrogant jerks that I've ever encountered in customer service. 

First dialogue exchange:
Him: "We don't have any more of those jerseys in any size except Medium...we sold them all out."
Me: "Wow...really? Do any of your other stores have them in other sizes?"
Him: "What...do you think I'm lying? Come on over to the register and I'll show you the inventory."
So instead of continuing to assist me, he remains at the register and keeps calling me over there.
Me: "No thanks. I don't need to see that."
He finally walks back over, and I tell him that he could've been showing me these other Trek jerseys that were in my size, but it looks like I found them myself while he was consumed in his quest to show me the inventory.

Second dialogue: 
Him: "These days, I can't seem to find a pair of bike shorts with a thin enough chamois."
Me: "Well tri (triathlon) shorts usually have a pretty thin chamois...have you considered trying those?"
Him: "Well I'm the owner of the store, so I already know about all that anyway, so you don't need to tell me about that kind of stuff."

That was the deal breaker for me. This guy didn't even deserve a third strike. I've been in this Trek store before, and the previous owner was 10 times better than this guy. At this rate, I'll consider it worth the longer drive down to Performance in Bonita, even with Trek being only a mile away. If I should ever need to go back to this Trek store, I'll be sure to steer way clear of the owner, and perhaps ask for help from the younger guy (or anyone else, really) who greeted me in the first place.
