Story

Trenton Athletic Club has been serving the Downriver community for 35 years and has adapted to the constant changing fitness industry. The Trenton Athletic Club began as Racquet King Courts in 1978 when racquetball was booming. John, Paul and Vince Finazzo built a 14 court facility that was extremely busy and successful. The facility included 14 racquetball courts, whirlpools, saunas, child care, exercise area, complete locker room facilities and bar.

As the times changed and racquetball popularity declined along with tough economy, the club changed and began a new era in 1984. The club name was changed to Trenton Athletic Club in 1984. The fitness era started to grow and underwent many changes. Aerobics, cardio equipment, and new weight equipment became popular and changed the industry forever.

Today Trenton Athletic Club is a complete athletic club offering a wide variety of strength training, cardiovascular equipment, group fitness classes, racquetball, squash, wallyball, basketball, whirlpool, saunas, child care, hair salon, physical therapy, pro-shop, banquet facility, massage therapy and many programs to service our members and guests.

Welcome to Trenton Athletic Club. To help you feel at home from the start of your membership,
here are some commonly asked questions when joining:

Q: How do I use my membership card?
A: When you enter the club, present your membership card to desk attendant. They will swipe your
card, verify your membership and return your card to you.

Q: Do I need a lock for a locker?
A: Yes. Please bring your own lock to secure your personal items. Lockers are available for daily
use only. Permanent lockers are also available for a nominal yearly fee of only $60.

Q: May I bring a guest?
A:Yes, you may bring guests to Trenton Athletic Club for a nominal daily charge. Since we are a
private club, we ask you to escort your guest to the club. Guests must be 18 years and older and
must provide photo I.D. Guest fees are $15 per day for unlimited use of the club.

Q: What do I get if I refer a friend who joins?
A: Since member referrals are our best source for new members, sponsoring members are rewarded with prizes for each member they sponsor.

Q: How old does my child have to be to use the equipment?
A: Children must be 14 and over to use any of the equipment in the fitness areas, including group
fitness classes. Parents may use courts sports with their children 6-12 years old.

Q: What is IHRSA?
A: IHRSA, International Health Racquet Association, is an association of quality clubs that offers our members to use over 9,400 clubs world wide. When traveling using the IHRSA passport program is simple:
Ask a staff member for a valid passport I.D. card or a passport sticker for your membership card.
Visit www.healthclubs.comand click on find a club to search for an IHRSA club in the area you
will be traveling.
Call ahead to the club you'd like to visit to verify any guest fee that may apply, as well to
confirm the availability of facilities you plan on using.
Upon arrival, show your passport I.D. and you're in!

Q: How do I get started on a fitness program? Will someone help me?
A: Soon after you join Trenton Athletic Club we will schedule a complimentary fitness orientation. Our certified trainers are committed to helping you reach your fitness goals and learn how to use the equipment.

Q: How do I sign up for group fitness classes?
A:Trenton Athletic Club offers over 35 group fitness classes per week. Group fitness classes do not require sign-up...just show up!Click here to view the current class schedule.

Q: Billing questions?
A: Call the club and ask for accounting for all financial and billing questions.

Q: Cell phones?
A: Members and guests may use club phone for emergency purposes only. Use of mobile phones are strictly prohibited in all fitness areas. Mobile phones with camera capability are not allowed in the locker rooms.
