Tri Town Foods is a family business. It was established by Edward J. Sharr Sr. in 1969 when he took over the operation of Tri Town Supermarkets in Colchester, CT.
When Ed purchased his first Colchester store he brought 40 years of experience in the food industry to town with him. In 1974, Ed's son, Ed Jr. (nicknamed Rick) joined the business on a full-time basis, becoming vice President of Operations in 1980 and President/CEO in 1990, after Ed Sr. stepped down from the day to day operations. By 1988 the company was operating three full service supermarkets.
In 2000, Kevin Brouillard joined the company and became Vice President of Operations. The company added a further partner in 2001, Jack Fitzpatrick. Both Kevin and Jack joined the team with many years of prior experience in both the wholesale and retail sectors of the food industry.
Today, the company maintains its headquarters in Colchester, while operating supermarkets in Portland and East Lyme Connecticut.
