They are great, I am so glad to have a local place I can send my business to.  The owners are very kind and seem to know their stuff and really came.  They already know us by name.  They have helped my family with our new pets, and I will continue to go to them for all I can even when pets mart might be a buck cheaper on something.  BUY LOCAL!!! Love them, I'm a big fan and I would recommend to come here for aquarium needs and reptile.

Trop-Aquarium is a small local shop with fish and a large selection of reptiles.  The owner clearly cares about the animals and takes excellent care of them and is generous with his advice (including "Don't buy this", when appropriate).  If you want a big box store full of know-nothing minimum wage employees, go to PetSmart.  If you want friendly, informed, conscientious local service, go to Trop-Aquarium.

This place is dirty and does not properly care for their animals!!! 
The rodents are living in their own filth, and the reptiles are put in cages way too small for their size. 
I called to complain and the woman on the phone yelled at me even though i was being civil and polite. 
I feel so bad for the animals here, it must be hell for them.

These guys rule. I got a pair of leopard geckos a few months back and I go to Trop to get feeder insects and gear for their habitat. I could always tell that the owners care a lot about what they do, and they're quite knowledgeable to boot. They have always been polite and friendly, they're santa cruz locals, it's a family business, and they generally are awesome at what they do.
