GREAT Seafood place! I had a (Gin Mill, oysters Rockefeller, fantastic bowl of fish chowder, Caesar salad with anchovies (the large is for 2 people), and crab cakes. Paper covered linen table cloths and very nice flatware. Support service. Meal for two with drinks = 120. Including tip. One of my favorite places in Salem.

Comfortable, New England atmosphere, lots of wood and brick. Delicious seafood, lots of rich sauces. More a nice night out, than a regular staple. Reasonable prices, servings satisfying rather than huge. Not an all you can eat place. Limited but good beer and wine selection. Cocktails looked good, though I have not tried them. Entrance has a step up and a sharp turn, so not wheelchair friendly. Parking nearby in metered spaces.8

I'm in court today, and very frustrated. This morning I sat for hours until finally getting dismissed- just to be told to come back after an hour lunch break. Walked into the closest restaurant, and sat alone at the bar. I was actually kind of rude to the mother/daughter couple next to me, as I really didn't feel like talking (they thought I was someone's lawyer). The couple, surprisingly, bought my lunch. The daughter said it was because the mother noticed I was in a bad mood when I sat down, and said they should be nice to me. Even though she noticed that, this 95 year old mother was so deep into dementia, that it seemed like she was on an acid trip when you talked to her. Her personality shone through in her facial expressions, gestures and cadence- she was smart, and funny. The daughter signaled 'just agree with her', and smiled at me for humoring her mother with the conversation about the rug on the wall not working. The daughter knows the condition is hereditary, and that one day, she, herself, will be equally as unaware. That's where her patience and understanding comes from, I guess; because it certainly gave me a little boost of it. Just enough to get me through the 20° five minute walk back to the courthouse- then it ran out again.

Rustic decoration, great ambiance, tasty food and fine dining experience. We enjoyed their crab cake and lobster pie. Their onion rings were phenomenal. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly. Would love to be back.

This is a busy & apparently popular seafood restaurant in Salem. We were looking forward to our meal but were quite disappointed. There were 4 of us and none of us were completely happy. The service was standard, nothing special. The corn bread & rolls were nice and we enjoyed the clam chowder. The fish & chips was plentiful but the batter was not great. The yellowfin tuna was good but they were skimpy on the sauce & the rice & vegetables were blah. The sole & crab cake were very good, but peppers are seasonal vegetables in December? The seafood medley was rather tasteless with a cold baked potato & stringy onion rings. None of the food was very hot, the presentation was very basic but the price point was quite high. Would not be in a hurry to go back or to recommend this restaurant.
