We recently went looking for new restaurants close by and stumbled upon Toscano Italian Kitchen in Cedar Park where Gino's used to be.  We decided to give it a try on a Wednesday evening.  I must confess up front that I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to Italian restaurants, having worked many years as a chef at an Italian restaurant.  My meal at TIK is a pleasure to review here, and I hope readers find this helpful! The staff was warm and friendly, and we were seated immediately.  Service was great, attentive but not intrusive.  The meal starts with gratis freshly made bread and an olive oil/garlic/spice mix that was deelish!  Although we're not usually appetizer people, since this was a new place for us, we decided to try a couple of appetizers. We ordered the mussels and the fried cheeses/zucchini.  The mussels were plentiful, and served in a fantastic white wine-butter- mushroom sauce.  We ordered a second basket of bread to sop up the extra sauce!  LOL  The fried cheese-zucchini dish was served piping hot, and included a marinara and ranch dressing for dipping.  Both dishes were fantastic! For main courses we shared shrimp portofino, redfish portofino, and veal marsala.  The dishes came hot, the portions were plentiful, and the fish and veal were super fresh ... well prepared, expertly seasoned, and artfully presented.  We enjoyed a bottle of Justin Cab with the meal, half-price bottles of wine on Wednesdays!  For dessert, we decided on the Basque-style cheesecake, with candied pecans, hot honey and bourbon sauce.  The perfect ending to a wonderful meal.  One word describes the meal in general ... stupefacente!  that's Italian for amazing!. Although we sat in the dining area, we did check out the bar area on the way out.  The bar area is very well appointed and inviting.  We'll try that next time.  Very much recommend TIK, check it out the next time you're in the Cedar Park TX area. Had the pleasure of eating here last night for a date night. Would first like to recognize the staff, the hostess was very friendly and we were sat immediately. Our waiter was incredible. He answered all our questions about the menu and his recommendation Fettucine Laredo was amazing. Never even had to ask for a refill on my drink! Now the food.... my girlfriend and I both wanted to try something from the Texas fusion part of the menu for something a little different and we were not disappointed! Again I had the fettucine laredo which was absolutely incredible. The sauce! Two bites in I think we both looked at each other and said "we have to come back and try everything!" She ordered the pork loin romana which I would need to use a thesaurus to describe how amazing it was. We also decided to indulge and try two of the desserts, the raspberry puree cheesecake and bread pudding. My only regret is I didn't leave enough room to finish it because both were to die for! Bottom line, if you are looking for phenomenal Italian food, a good date spot, or even just wanna relax with a glass of wine and some cheesecake, this place is must try and I cannot wait to go back.
What a gem. The food and service was amazing. Modern Italian food and a fantastic wine list. I had the Tuscan antipasto board and the brisket bolangese. Both were incredible. I highly reccomend dining here!
We dined for dinner with no reservation, highly recommend a reservation as they were very busy. Staff were very friendly, our waitress abs a gentleman who stopped by our table were extremely helpful with the menu and wine recommendations. The food was some of the best we’ve ever had at an Italian restaurant. The Italian wine was delicious and direct from Italy. We had dessert that was a crust less cheesecake with various toppings. I chose the candied pecans and my husband the raspberry. Both were divine, I’ve never had a dessert quite like this. We’ve traveled the US and multiple countries and this was by far one of the best meals we’ve ever had. How lucky we are to have a restaurant of this caliber in our own community. AAA+ Dietary restrictions: I have a gluten allergy and I was pleased to see GF options clearly marked and really enjoyed the zoodles option instead of GF pasta.
I have been a few times since the new ownership and it keeps getting better and better each time. The have really refined their wine list to a great selection, I haven’t had a single glass I haven’t enjoyed. Their food has made huge improvements since a few months ago and they even have a few fun fusion items. Obviously you can never go wrong with chicken parmigiana, but the chicken fried steak version was surprisingly really good!
Got drinks at the bar last night with few friends and they were fabulous. We all got different drinks to try and all of them exceeded our expectations. My favorite was The Spicy Sicilian but also loved The Venetian. Cole the bartender was super sweet and fun to chat with. We ordered a charcuterie board and it was beautiful. The cheeses were all super tasty. Don’t have anything bad to say about the place, it exceeded my expectations! Can’t wait to go back soon!
This place so close to us in Cedar Park, I am glad we have a good new place for us to frequent. The service was prompt and our waitress was super sweet, and the owner came by to great us, and he was so polite and welcoming. I got their Antipasto Salad and it was beautiful and a great salad. My kids love getting to pick their own pasta bowls and they are picky eaters so it is perfect and no complaints from them. My husband got the Veal Piccata and loved it! We had a great family meal here, and will for sure be back!
I had a drink with some friends in the bar area and it was so cute! The espresso martini was really good and we got the cowboy meatballs and bruschetta they were both so tasty. I ordered the Tuscano Specialty pizza to go for dinner later and the toppings were fabulous and crust was cooked perfectly. This place just got new ownership and a new name, and they have done a fantastic job. Will definitely being going back again and 10/10 will be recommending to friends!
Stumbled upon this place looking for somewhere to eat in Cedar Park and man I am glad we went in. We both got glasses of wine that were great. I got the Tuscan Combo, which was perfect and got to try a little bit of everything. My friend got the Veal Parmigiana and said it was cooked perfectly. Glad we found this place, we will be back.
Tuscano has got to be my favorite Italian food in Austin. Since the new management the atmosphere is unbeatable and the team works so hard to make sure your experience is top tier. They redid in the inside and it looks AMAZING!!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants good food and good service.
