The usual wait time is about 1 hour long with out an appointment, but that isn't the reason for the rating. The only reason why I gave it a two star instead of a one, is that one person should not reflect the whole department, but today the person who called my number, seemed to dragged out the process on purpose because it was close to their lunch time. I am guessing Social Security Admin workers aren't rewarded by how many people they have helped, so there is no incentive to be efficient like many government related position. Still, I would appreciated it if that person would not get distracted by read computer messages from their co-workers while they are processing my document, have more eye contact when talking to me, and try to convey the attitude that they want to help me instead of treating it as a work that need to be done. I'm not asking them to smile (because they are not customer service), but at least try and take steps to improve the impression people have of the social security department at Bellevue.

Waited for close to 2 hours despite getting there before opening, only to find that after a month I have not recieved my card. There is no way to talk to a real person and complain, I just want my card. DO YOUR JOB

Long waits, but that’s to be expected. I was pleasantly surprised by how kind and well-informed the security guard here is. It’s not his job to answer my stupid questions, but he had no problem doing so, and asked once or twice what I needed! I really appreciate that. (Officer Oriz-Orjeda? Shoot, something like that!)

In an out in an hour! The officer out front was very polite and kept everyone in good spirits. Once at the window, the man that helped me was very polite and helpful. Got my new SS card in about a week.

I'm expecting a 2 hour wait and am sitting in the waiting area. Yes, they need more seat8ng, and yes (like all SS offices) it takes forever. BUT the security guard on duty (Diaz) was friendly, hospitable and did an amazing job. I had been to the Everett office yesterday, and this Bellevue office is MUCH better.
