A Birthday  Postcard from the State of Washington arrived 6 weeks in advance of my 80th.  It reminded me that my 6 year old enhanced driving license would expire but not to worry because I could renew it for another 6 (assuming that I could pass the eye exam, of course) by paying the fee.  Beat the summer rush - it advised.  My wife's 80th BD is 8 weeks away.  We went there yesterday at 1:30, was met at the door by a pleasant greeter  and was directed to  the nearest  agent  (no line) whom verified my existing license, did about 2 minutes of record-updating computer work and directed me to the final eye-testing/photographing/temporary license issuing cashier-agent.  Yes, my debit card was accepted for payment.  With my wife practically on my heels as she went through behind me, we were out the door and on our way in less than 15 minutes.  The 3 people with whom we had direct contact were friendly, helpful, and efficient.   The employees were from diverse ethnicities, ages, and genders which we appreciate noting in all public functions in Renton.

Found out that counter person, gave me bad info. Could have been more helpful, but had already decided to make it difficult. A Latino lady, early 30's, slightly plump. Avoid her, takes her job personally.
