Undertaking L.A. is run by Caitlin Doughty and Amber Carvaly.

We advocate for a more intimate relationship with death. It may seem foreign and crazy, but in fact, this was the norm for hundreds of years of American history.

It is only in the recent rise of the medical and funeral industries that we have seen the death and dying process moved behind closed doors to be handled by “professionals.”

We believe that their is no one better suited to take care of your loved one than you. Our goal is to give you the guidance and support necessary to arrange and hold a home funeral that both fits into our modern society, yet pays homage to the tradition and ritual of simpler times in American history.
