Story

US Post Office-Garden City is a historic post office building located at Garden City in the town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, United States. It was built in 1936 and designed by consulting architects Walker & Gillette for the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a one story, square brick building on a granite in the Classical Revival style. The lobby features a 1937 mural by J. Theodore Johnson titled "Huckleberry Frolic." On December 24, 1987, the building was named in honor of former Congressman John W. Wydler (1924-1987).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.Image gallery

This is the worst post office I have ever had to deal with. I live in low rise apartments so the postman says "its hard to find parking and your package was heavy, so I leave a slip and its easier for you to get it from the post office." THAT WAS ON XMAS EVE. I have called and complained about undelivered packages, unleft slips, false updates to tracking numbers. yesterday, they never delivered my package or left a slip, so I called because I was tracking it online. The manager at the office yesterday laughed and said "well it was raining and they've had long days, so you know how it is" and proceeds to tell me to pick it up. Not even an apology. I pay for fast shipping and never get decent service. The staff is a joke and lazy is too kind of a word for them.

Im giving this place 👍👍. Granted they have those worker that are lazy, rude and dont care too much about us the customers. But for the most part the mail carriers are really nice and willing to help out in anyway if its putting the mail in a certain place they try and thats what counts. They work hard just like the rest of us and just like we have bad days they do to. We should just try and be more understanding of each other. As for those down right nasty workers at ALL post offices you are the reason why some places have such bad names...

Worst u.s post office ever. Whoever that employee is need to fix her attitude because she clearly not doing her job. I lost my money order and tried to track it and she doesn't help me at all. I have to let one of my American friend to help me call the customer service to made them help me ( since I am an international student) they are clearly don't help me at all. Just keep saying same thing over and over again when I let my friend called they are totally different. How is that even make sense?

The moment you talk to the staff in this location you understand you are dealing with people-professionals--probably the nicest and most helpful people on the usps, but the entire delivery system on this area is not only confusing, but problematic. However, if you call them up (particularly one with the name of Heidi) you will get a good response. NOTE: Do not call the 6262 number. That is an insurance company. Call instead the 2201.

Man....the older ladies that work there have two speeds: slow and reverse! The man on the left end does all the work and should be acknowledge some how!
