Universal Bar & Grill is a family owned business. We have served local residents and visiting patrons for decades. Great drinks & Great food!

Story

UBG prides itself on an atmosphere of casual, comfort, and excellent local entertainment. Velvet red walls, chandelier lighting, and a large seating area at the bar for great conversation. There are plenty of tables to sit and watch bands. A pool table and dart board are located in back. We have a wide range of live music from Wednesday to Saturday nights (alt rock, classic rock, blues, etc.), comedy nights and other promotions Sunday through Tuesday. We have several TVs for sporting events inside and on our outdoor patio. Our staff is friendly, fun and very experienced. You will not find a fresh out of bartending school bartender here. We offer a full food menu from 11am-2pm for lunch and also from 7pm-10pm. Come in and discover the best neighborhood bar that you will keep coming back to again and again!

It's very dark and dingy inside, most nights they charge a cover at the door, the beer is warm and flat, the bar tables are sticky and wobbly, the pool table is wobbly, the dart board doesn't work, the bathrooms are disgusting (the men's toilet doesn't have a door), the bartenders discourage you from ordering what you want unless it's beer and sometimes the bartenders don't even serve you, often times the bartenders leave from behind the bar and walk away while people are waiting to order drinks. This bar is average at best, calling it a bar and grill is stretching it. The grill is never open at night, both the bartenders and the cook seemed to be annoyed if anyone orders food when the grill is open (the only time there's food is when someone brings it in or when the bartender gives you candy). They don't provide itemized receipts so you don't know what you're being charged for. Worst thing is the outside patio closes when the sun goes down which forces their customers to stay inside where it gets crammed and almost feels like there's nowhere to sit when it's crowded. Not recommended especially if you have to pay money to get inside!

Love this dive bar!! Located near Universal Studios. A low-key place to enjoy food and spirits. The place offers a variety of entertainment from bands to karaoke to comedy. My favorite place to be during football season.

Full fledged dive bar, drinks are strong and reasonable. Bar is open late compared to city walk bars. The people are friendly and they have live music of sorts great place to relax and chill

The quintessential dive bar experience. Dark, drab and tacky interior. Wonderful regulars and nice stiff drinks. There's a pool table, a patio and juke box. Lunch menu is...tolerable (nothing remarkable, really) but food service stops between 2pm and 5pm. Beer menu could use a craft revamp but otherwise, not a bad place to kill a few hours

typical dive bar. They have local bands provide live music but there is a cover charge if you are going to watch the bands.
