Universal Studios Florida

Story

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is a steel roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, Florida. With a height of 167ft, a length of 3800ft, and a top speed of 65mph, it is the largest X-Coaster ever built by German manufacturer Maurer Söhne. It was announced on March 19, 2008 and officially opened on August 19, 2009 though originally planned to open in the spring of that year. Some of the special features are that riders are recorded during the entire 1 minute and 37 second ride and can choose one of thirty songs to listen to during the experience.HistoryDuring the second week of January 2008, Universal Parks & Resorts filed a Notice of Commencement with Orange County, Florida indicating that they were to construct a ride system that they had code-named "Project Rumble." The notice also stated that the contractor was "Maurer Rides GmbH," located in Munich, Germany. After months of rumours, the new attraction was announced by Universal officials on March 19, 2008. Unlike usual announcements, officials did not reveal the specifications of the entire roller coaster. In the original press release, it stated that the roller coaster's vertical lift hill would be tall, and that the trains would reach a maximum speed of 65mph. The press release also mentioned that each train would be equipped with a multi-media package, LED lights, built in video recorders, and the option for riders to choose a song from a list to be played during the course of the ride. The ride would also include six near miss encounters. At the time, the new roller coaster was scheduled to open in Spring 2009. Also, in the months after the announcement, Universal surveyed guests on what songs they think should be included in the roller coaster. Some of the artists that guests could choose from were: The Black Eyed Peas, Bee Gees, The Beach Boys, and Johnny Cash.

Was very disappointed during a recent visit to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. On arrival at the parking lot the attendant advised us that they were expecting high attendance at the park and as a consequence were advising visitors to take advantage of their preferred parking packages all of which attract an additional fee. We declined and parked as normal. On return to the parking lot later in the day I was surprised to see large areas and entire sections of the parking lot vacant. Universal is becoming far too focused on making a fast buck from the guests. The covered car parks are an attractive addition to the park but WDW retains the edge on customer focus. Rather than just post this review I emails Universal in the first instance. To provide a balanced overview - here is their response: I apologize for any miscommunication you may have experienced while parking. Our team members always have our Guests’ best interests in mind, and trained to offer the upgrade to prime parking as a courtesy to our Guests who may be interested in parking in a closer area, however there is never an obligation to upgrade. High demand may be anticipated during certain hours or on certain days, however this may not always be the case. We are committed to providing a superior entertainment experience. I have formally documented your feedback and forwarded it to the appropriate members of management for their review and future action. As a feedback-based company, Universal Orlando™ will be sure to take your comments into consideration as we continue to make improvements to the overall Guest experience. Again, thank you for contacting us. Best Regards, Danica| Guest Communication | Universal Orlando Resort™

Such an awesome experienced!! A Must go place for an epic ride! I don't have any problems all at. Only went there for 1 day but almost got to all the rides. We went after hurricane Irma and it was a lot season at the end of September so there are not many people most of the ride we didn't have to wait long and some hardly any wait at all. The Harry Potter were epic 😊

My family and I had a horrible experience at Universal Studios Florida. The "ticket specialist" was unprofessional and rude. We bought tickets to Universal online a few weeks ago, and the problem started at the front gate. When our tickets are scanned, there seemed to be an issue, yet we were NEVER specifically told what the problem was. The lady who scanned our tickets took them and claimed she was going to call someone who could "fix the issue". After 15 minutes of waiting, someone from guest services arrived. He did not state who he was, how he would help us, nor was he friendly. He made a phone call, and with no explanation whatsoever confiscated the tickets. He simply told us to go buy tickets, go to guest services, or leave. Well, our only option was to go to guest services since we had paid $600 for the tickets. We get to guest services, which, by the way, had a long line. This goes to say that a lot of people tend to have problems with their tickets. Anyway, after 2 hours of waiting, we get to the window. The worker called the "ticket specialist", and after 20 minutes, he comes. Guess who it was. The same rude man from before who confiscated our tickets. He said under his breath, "I already dealt with this." He simply said that the tickets would be refunded and left. No explanation. Nothing. Don't come here, go to Disney instead. Their customer service is much better.

Got ran off from family vacation, because of hurricane Irma. If you bought your tickets in advance, they will not refund, and they are non transferable! Would get tickets at the gate if I was u. Nothing at all like Disney, who is refunding all my money. Disney is a stand up company that bends over backwards to make their customers happy! Hope this helps

Terrible Customer Service at Universal Studios Orlando... Well it certainly isn’t Disney that’s for sure. The difference in customer service between the two is astounding. Disney treats its customers as ‘guests’ and bends over backwards should there ever be a problem. Universal on the other hand treats its customers as cash cows to be herded, milked at every possible occasion and generally treated with contempt. My daughter had the misfortune to follow their instructions on the Men in Black ride recently and placed her loose items in the basket beneath her seat as instructed, including her phone. You guessed it, when the ride finished her phone was gone. Yes, I know that there are lockers outside, but they clearly state that ‘Lockers are Optional’ and all loose items should be stored in the baskets provided beneath the seat. What was infuriating about this incident was the total lack of empathy from anyone at Universal. They even refused to take any name or contact details in case the object was subsequently found on the ride or handed in. All we heard from Universal was I’m sorry Universal don’t do x, y or z. In-short a total lack of interest on their part. Hold onto your items tightly and ignore any ride staff that tells you to use the on-ride baskets as you will get absolutely no help from Universal should anything go astray.
