The University of Utah Palliative Care Service provides relief of suffering, improvement in quality of life and compassionate support for the seriously ill along with their families, friends and professional caregivers. This is accomplished through:

• Quality, evidence-based clinical care.
• Advocacy for care based on patient goals and preferences.
• Facilitation of communication among all involved parties.

When it takes 35+ minutes to have a call reach customer care you know you should take your business elsewhere if possible.

I've never had to be admitted, but many close to me have and the staff here is welcoming and helpful.

The hospital itself is old and the staff isn't great. The low rating is specific to their billing offices. Our son was born with a severe heart defect so we had to deliver here so he'd be taken straight to Primary's. Naturally we hit our out of pocket maximum with the bills. We paid these idiots over 4 thousand dollars in 9 months time, and yet they're sending us papers about us going to collections because we can't afford their $800 minimum payment on our bill. We set up monthly payments, yet that wasn't enough for them on top of the 4 thousand we already paid. You go through the worst experience of your life, sacrifice for the whole year following to give them every cent you have, and it's not enough for them to even work with you. I understand they deserve to be paid and I will have them paid in the spring time, but they treat you like a criminal.
