Went to the ER for severe pain. They quickly found it was appendicitis. They prepped me a room for surgery and thy made me wait 9 hours because my case wasn’t “critical enough”. In that time my appendix did burst and caused me to stay 4 more days in the hospital. I should have been seen sooner and while I was waiting it would take an hour to get any attention. Very uncomfortable and unnecessary to be treated that way. I felt extremely neglected. There was no wait for the ER when I got there and absolutely no reason it should have taken 9 hours to do surgery when they knew the situation was close to being worse. Absolutely the worst hospital experience

My sister was in from out of town and ended up poking her ear drum. Needless to say, the ER doctor said it was just irritated from the Q-tip nothing else was assessed. She returns home and she still is in excruciating pain ,so she follows up only to be told she has a massive ear infection and the treating physician couldn’t believe the Er Doctor could have missed it!! Tried calling to let the hospital know (fat chance getting through to anyone with a pulse) of the miss diagnosis (good luck with that if you even think of doing it). All the receptionist could do is transfer her (4 times!!!!) to the fax machine line! Imagine that! So 30 min and several thousand dollars later—NADA!!! The honest thing is to use a gun next time (oh, but that would be a crime?!!!). All I can say is: CAVIATE EMPTOR!!!! If you’re planning on going there.

This place is so efficient and kind along the way. They were there when needed Nd kew the best solution for problems. The nurse who takes blood was so tender and found my vein the first time in my cold hands. I really felt at ease and not ready to bite my finger nails off. And your food is excellent!

I had surgery at St. Marks Hospital Thursday evening. Although the Surgeon, Anesthesiologist and Surgical nurse were very professional and helpful- the prep nursing staff, recovery room and staff and post op staff offered a horrific experience! The prep nursing staff had no information for me, couldn’t get an IV in after several painful attempts and pretty much ignored me and the awlful pain I was in for hours. They didn’t even get an identification band on me for hours. When I was back after post up, I received the same neglect . No information , I was having difficulty with a stint they put in and the nurse did not check it after all the symptoms pointed to the stint falling out. They sent me home with the stint dislodged which caused all kinds of pain and problems when I got home ( remember I was loopy after anesthesia and depending on nurses to help- which they didn’t)!!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ST MARKS AGAIN. The Dr didn’t even apologize for the unnecessary pain and drama I had to go through that was not my fault !!!

I was seen in the ER, it was a total joke the staff was really rude. The Doctor came in for 3 sec. They didn't run any test. The doctor gave me a diagnosis that I self diagnosed. No IV. No labs. No pain meds. I finally told them to discharge me so I could be seen somewhere where I could get some treatment. All of the nurses had attitudes and when one of the nurses came in to answer my call light he was extremely rude, exhaling loudly and rolling his eyes, with a book in his hand. Save yourself the money and DO NOT GO TO THIS ER. I am a medical professional and this place is an embarrassment for the medical world.
