It’s like they go out of their way to NOT be helpful if you want to send anything besides priority mail - will provide plenty of shipping labels for free for priority mail shipping, but won’t let you use them for lower cost shipping and won’t provide you with blank labels.
The worst Postal Experience yet from the Sykesville Post Office. Ineffective, lack of effort, no interest or concern in getting mail to the proper patrons, indolent, unable to move or work due to their feckless attitudes. Carriers apathetic handling of the job define this Sykesville Postal environment. Avoid them if possible.
Sykesville USPS Mail Delivery-Mail/Delivery Sort Issues. Mail on Bartholow Rd is constantly being delivered to the wrong address. Today all mail for a large group of houses was rubber-banded together and delivered to one house. Unfortunately, we have some people who retain mail when misdelivered. Today the mail was personally hand-carried to the separate houses. This problem appears to be with substitute carriers. Additional delivery issues have arisen. Congressional assistance requested re USPS inability to perform simple daily tasks. Once again on 3/12/22, another package turns up delivered but NOT to my mailbox. DO these folks pass receive routine eye exams????????????
Hours have changed and barely open now. Close at 2pm weekdays and 1pm Saturdays. Lost my mail. No response to phone calls. Unable to reach anyone. Very frustrating.
I attempted to pick up certified mail from the IRS today and was refused service for not wearing a mask despite having proof of vaccination AND not being under a state/county/town mandate. Both the clerk and supervisor behind the counter would not allow me to pick up my certified letters even when I offered proof of vaccination, and to cover my face with a fully zipped water resistant jacket. When I offered to return with a sweater covering my face because I no longer carry a mask - and they would not provide one - I was rudely yelled at and refused service without a mask. They were incredibly rude, unprofessional, all while masked and behind plexiglass. Again, we are not under a mandate and none of the other post offices require masks/refuse to hand over certified mail. The postmaster called me a liar when brought to his attention which is why this review is being left and will be escalated to USPS.
Clarence was incredibly helpful with my passport application at this location. I was in and out in about 15 minutes, and he helped with each step of the application. Even offered to take my picture a few times until I was happy with it. Would definitely recommend this location for passport services.
Always have the worst experiences here. The employees are SO rude. I only go because some of the places I order from require the returns go through USPS but I will not return to this location anymore due to the employees nasty attitudes and pure laziness!!
I recently moved here from another part of Maryland and just started doing business with the local post office. I have a home business and do a lot of shipping. Recently, I was expecting a package, but I did not receive it for several days. When I called the post office to enquire, I was told that they delivered all the packages they had received. When I proceeded to tell the man on the phone that tracking showed it in their possession for three days, I was swiftly interrupted with a "we have nothing else to deliver. Thank you. Goodbye" and a click. This may be a location specific problem, because my previous post office was in a poor neighborhood and it garnered far better customer service than this location, which is located in a relatively wealthy area. I've also gone into the location to drop off packages with pre-paid labels and that is always an adventure as well with long lines and often moody front counter staff. I've also scheduled multiple package pickups at home and only 1 of the 3 times did they actually come to get the package. On one occasion, I got an email that the package had been picked up, but when I got home, the package was still sitting there in front of my garage door. Very unreliable. If this were a private business, they would have been forced to deal with their problems, but instead, we taxpayers keep bailing out this failing business and nothing ever changes.
Poor adjustment to cut back on workers and yet we are having more and more online purchases. It’s only gonna increase doesn’t make sense for us to wait weeks for items that should take a few days. Overall not the fault of the workers but they need to invest more in the post office.
Not a great experience. Came to get a passport and it was a very uncomfortable atmosphere. I worked for the government and was in the military and every single document i had to provide they questioned whether it was a real document...like what. Also drivers licence need to be changes over to the real id by October of this year and they made it seem like my license wasn't valid since it wasn't the real id. Also they questioned whether my birth cert was real... LIKE WHAT it has the official raised stamp and everything i was blown away. Seemed like they were just giving me a really hard time because my passport was issued to me almost immediately after i just told them to send in my information. It didn't end there. They sent in all my documents and i got my passport but my birth cert was not delivered back to me. Now i have to purchase ANOTHER ONE. Not fair after spending what i did to get the passport in the first place. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT A PASSPORT.
