We were at home, waiting for the package. The mailman had already written out the "sorry we missed you" note in the truck (we saw him walk in with it) and even had the audacity to leave it in the mailbox. He didn't even attempt to deliver the box to our apartment. His "sorry" note said delivery would be re-attempted tomorrow.

The second day, we were waiting again for the package and he didn't even bring it. We asked him about it and he said we had to pick it up at the post office.

We have a home business that depends on package pick-up and delivery.   For over three years we've had problems with the part-time rural post-person (neighbors warned us about this when we first moved here).  Our full-time guy, (who's been great) is now retiring.  SO now we'd have to depend on the part-time person, who can't seem to read the address - delivers other people's mail to us and our mail to other people.  Also has often scanned pick-ups as "delivered" which sends our customers into a tizzy.  After three years of complaining to the maim office supervisor with no results - we opted for a PO BOX - which requires a daily drive into town (16 mile round trip) to drop off our packages and pick up our mail.  Very inconvenient and time consuming.  And not just the drive time - if you have to wait in line - which you always do - you can plan on a 10 to 15 min. wait.  Very frustrating - postage costs go up - service goes down.  UGH
