In regards to reviews for car auto repair shops,  I don't write reviews till the work's been done and I have seen that the repairs have held through the test of time. I had my shocks and struts replaced here for a 1999 Honda Accord at $1,500 less than what Firestone would charge me!!! Alex the owner let me buy my parts, where Firestone refused to let me and said only their parts could be used! Over a year later not a single problem! I sent my mom in to get her brakes done a few months later and nearly a year later not a single problem. I also took my Buick in for a pre purchase car inspection and asked Alex the owner to point out everything wrong which he did within 5 minutes just by looking at the engine. He didn't make one misdiagnosis. After that I took it to the Buick dealership who told me the exact same thing that he did for $100.00. Bottom line this place does great work, the work holds, and they are honest in what is said that needs to be repaired. The prices cannot be beaten or the quality of work so far that I have found in San Diego in my 40 years. I've also been in and out of there for tiny here and there are repairs that I've also held and advice. Never have I been ripped off or LED astray with advice from Alex or his mechanics. Bottom line this place is honest and can be counted on in all the ways that matter!

Called Alex, he gave me a quote for a rear brake pads change. Went in to the shop knowing that two of the rear caliper slide pins were frozen but did not disclose this to Alex (i wanted to see if they would overcharge me or add a bunch of useless upgrades to my bill). They were able to get the slide pins out, resurfaced the rotors, and changed the brake pads out WITHOUT changing the original quote. Alex if you read these you officially have a life long customer.

I had to change my review to match my recent experience. I was attempting to go back to Alex for some additional repairs that I needed.  Even though some of the comments he made to me the first time I brought my truck in were unprofessional; he does good work.  His quote was a bit higher then expected. He asked me to get some other quotes and said he would match them (which he did with the initial repairs).  I called around and most people wouldn't give me a quote without looking at the vehicle.  One person did give me a quote which was only $50 cheaper.  Unlike the first time I gave him the info this time he asked me the place and phone number to verify.  He has mentioned to me that money is not an issue for him so not sure he was giving me the run around this time.  He made me feel as if I was trying to get over on him to save $50.  Not a good experience for me.  He also made a comment based on my appearance.  He asked me if I lived in Hillcrest and to write a review because he has been getting a lot of customers that are gay.

Alex is AMAZING! This establishment definitely does not mark up pricing, and Alex is very quick to explain that. I came in needing my alternator replaced, I expected a long wait. To my surprise my car was done in less than an hour! I made it all the way back to Texas. There is a reason this place has 5 stars.
