Went there today just to look around as I have always found it an interesting place to shop.  After purchasing an item, the lady took my payment then dismissed me - but I didn't move away from the counter.  She said, well it appears you are waiting for a bag for your item, and I said, yes I am.  She was quite obviously bothered by this and I must say her arrogant attitude is what prompted this review.  Nasty people shouldn't work in customer service jobs.  It's that simple.  Will think twice before returning to this place of business.

 I  love this General Store. It is amazing how many different products it contains. If you don't see what you are looking for, just ask. They probably have it. Definitely more than merely a hardware store. Make sure you go upstairs as well. Vandervoorts is a wonderful addition to downtown living.

Everything we buy there is broken in some way. Bought a water bottle, it leaks from the bottom. Bought a set of 4 glasses, it had 3. Bought a coffee maker that didn't work at all, tried to return it and they were reluctant. That same coffee maker is back on the shelf. 👎

Place is way too expensive for the product they sell. They take advantage of the fact they are the only hardware store downtown. I suggest you drive the extra 5 minutes to Canadian tire
