There are only a few things in life that I hold* sacred: love for my family, my health & you guessed it, my jewels. Well Dr. Benderev took amazing care of all three. First off, if you go to Dr. Benderev you're getting the best. Dr. Benderev is the first known doctor to use the No-Needle Anesthesia for vasectomies in California -- can't get much better than that. Dr. Benderev was very friendly and informed and walked me through every step of the way. I was in the office for all of 30 minutes -- first the assistant went through all of the paperwork and logistics. Then, Dr. Benderev came in and went over what was going to happen, answered any questions and then got to it. The numbing + procedure + cleanup was around 10 to 15 minutes. The procedure was painless and Dr. Benderev checked in with my comfort along the way. He explained what he was doing as he did it. Once it was done, the doctor reviewed what I can and can't do for the next week, and I was on my way.

On the back end -- the staff was really friendly and helpful. Everything is easy – They will give you all of the information you need and check everything for you ahead of time. Since I followed their post-procedure instructions and recommendations, my recovery has been amazing, easier than expected. I am thankful I found out about Dr. Benderev and would highly recommend him as your go-to Urologist.

I just had my vasectomy yesterday and it was so easy. Dr Benderev and I were just talking and laughing and 10 minutes later he said "Guess what...you're done". Getting my teeth cleaned is more painful than my vasectomy. He did an amazing job and I can barely see the incision he made. I'll recommend him to all my friends and anyone who needs a vasectomy. Don't waste your time looking for the best, you already found him.

I had a lot of anxiety at the thought of having a vasectomy.  The day of the procedure my anxiety was pretty high.  I was anticipating a lot of pain including sharp pain.  

Doctor Benderev did a great job setting expectations and walking me through the procedure as he worked.  Start to finish it only took about 10 minutes.  The anxiety I had was by far the worst part of the whole thing.

My anxiety proved to be unfounded as the procedure was a piece of cake.

Here is a brief overview of how it went:

1- I came in wearing athletic clothes and was not required to change into a gown or anything humiliating.  Just had to drop drawers to knees and lay on back
2- Doctor cleaned area which took about 30 seconds
3- Doctor used needle free system to deliver a high pressure jet spray of anesthesia in 6-7 spots.  This felt like someone flicking me.  Minimal discomfort, took about 2-3 minutes
4- Doctor began procedure.  Since I was lying down I couldn't see anything.  I could hear a bit of snipping and cauterizing along with a slight smell of cauterizing. Felt some pressure but no sharp pain or discomfort. (took about 7 minutes)
5- Doctor cleaned up and put loose bandage on.  I pulled up pants.

The sense of relief I felt after the procedure made me light-headed so they had me lay down and sip apple juice after.  Made me feel well taken care of.

After a few minutes light headedness went away and I felt good.  Nurse walked me through post procedure care and provided a sheet of instructions.

I am writing this the day after the procedure.  Yesterday the post procedure discomfort felt comparable to a weak kick to the groin.  Not too bad.

Today I feel almost no discomfort at all.  Only minimal swelling.  Feels almost like nothing happened at all.  The only medicine I have taken is the 2 Tylenol they gave me yesterday before the procedure.  Have not needed anything else.

I will update the review in a few days as I begin to heal up.  At this point the entire process has been far easier than I expected.  If I had known how easy it would be I would not have had the anxiety beforehand.

Dr. Benderev was great and very kind! During the consultation he gave me all the information I need and explained the whole process. When I visited his office again for the procedure, I was so nervous but he made me very comfortable and the actual procedure took just 10-15 mins. It has been a few days since I got procedure, I had a little of discomfort on the day of procedure, but haven't felt any pain afterward. And, Dr. Benderev called me after the office hour and was checking my condition, which I never experienced before. Highly recommend Dr. Benderev vasectomy.

Only mild discomfort and didn't use any pain killers after, only a little icing. The procedure was quick and easy and I went back to work the next day. Dr. Benderev was great at explaining everything beforehand and did a great job of distracting me during the procedure. 

Also, way to step up for all of you that have decided or are deciding to get this procedure done instead of having your wife undergo a much higher risk, painful, expensive operation with a much longer and more difficult recovery time.
