I’ve been taking my pets to VCA Old Canal for over 10 years, starting with my 2 senior cats, who were around 15 when I switched to the practice. VCA provided wonderful, compassionate care in their old age. They were truly understanding and respectful of my values around quality of life. After that, when I adopted my first dog and came to every visit with a ton of questions, they were patient and helpful. We quickly learned that my pup is extremely fearful of vet visits and needs medication for them. They’ve been great with her, working with me to figure out the best approach. The practice is well run and organized and many of the staff have been there the whole time I’ve been using them.
Have been coming to this hospital for 4 years now, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. From the minute that you walk in you greeted, and the technician/assistants are always friendly and take time to go over the treatment plan happens every time I come in which is great so there are no surprises at check out. The doctors are amazing too, they will always look at other issues while I am there, even if I wasn’t booked for that reason initially. Check out is seamless, it’s done right in the room and the staff member will then walk you out, who does that anymore! You won’t find a hospital that has a concierge service like they do. I know they are not the least expensive, but the care and compassion they have for my four-legged friend means everything to me!
The staff at Old Canal once again stepped up and helped me with my dog. His infected foot was treated quickly and effectively. They're always willing to go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable in a situation that isn't always that pleasant. They answered all my questions no matter how trivial and we're willing to go the extra distance to make him comfortable while there. If anyone's looking for a quality veterinary facility I highly recommend the staff at Old Canal.
This place is heartless. My dog was a patient here for 10 years. Dr Hexter was the best. Very precise and down to earth and new his stuff. Since he left a couple of years ago this place has become a disaster. They will never take your dog because they are always understaffed even if it's an emergency or follow up. The last couple of days of my dogs life they refused to see her cause they were busy so I had no choice but to go to the ER and pay double 4 times that week. There was something going on with my dog and VCA refused to see her even thou they knew she needed to be seen. After my 4th trip to the ER that week I had no choice but to put her down because something was causing her pain. It is pretty sad that she died in the ER instead of the place she was used to going. My brother is now having the same issue. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE A SHUT DOWN. the rude staff is unexceptable and I was told by the manager to go somewhere else in her last days of life. I hope karma comes to them in triple form. The pain I am in now losing her is undescribable. THE SHOULD BE SUED.
Customer service is great. And they are fantastic with our pups. That said, prices are way too high and leaves me wondering if I should find a new vet just to save some money. Either way, you can be sure that your pet is being taken great care of, which is the most important thing at the end of the day.
I love this place, they are very nice and attentive and very kind to the pets. They calm the pet before doing anything. The place is also very nice and clean . I highly recomend them for your pets needs and health.
This Business is a JOKE my Girlfriend make a appointment for a check up with our Dog and the doctor Alexandra Prescia didnt explain anything about what is going on with the dog, but was quick to charge her $666. On top of that I tried calling to spoke to a supervisor or owner, they had me on hold for 30 min. I could only imagine how many more Individuals they done did this too. I will get my point accross for those individuals who didnt have the courage to say something this is not right at all. Please stay away from this business save your money and energy. I'm not the first person to meantion this matter as well. I will be getting on contact with the BBB and see if my attorney can assist me with this issue.
VCA Old Canal Animal Hospital is amazing. I brought my baby Winston in for an exam and vaccines and Dr. Prescia was absolutely incredible! I highly recommend going here for your animals needs.
This office is an absolute headache of an office to deal with. They're unorganized and take no responsibility for their lack of follow through. They're response is always "we're low on staff," which is not my problem. My advice to this VCA, get your act together. My advice to customers or prospectives, go elsewhere if you want to avoid a complete mess.
First time going and I love how they answered my questions..understood how sad I was and reasured me that everything will be okay ^_^ was able to also get her shots with no issue at all : even tho she kept wanting to leave they treated her with the upmost care and respect :
