Dr. Lohman and all of the staff are wonderful here! They took an incredible amount of time and patience to guide me through an urgent and complicated situation, and did it all with kindness and professionalism. By the time I was leaving I had a plan for what to do, and that is immeasurable to me when I am trying to make the best decision for a sick animal. Highly recommend this practice for amazing care and compassionate staff. Thank you so much!
The caring staff here went above and beyond for my family and our beloved pet. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and compassion, especially Courtney. Thank you for all you do, and thank you for taking care of our baby.
I have 100% confidence in VCA and the care they provide for my precious geriatric Maine coone, Walter. Dr. Mcgregor has been his doctor from the start and Walter loves him so much, that after he exams he is so calm he almost falls asleep while we are talking!I am never encouraged to do tests or spend money unless he believes it’s necessary. The staff is extremely friendly. And this comes from a cat lady that has lived in several diff states and have had lots of vet experiences. This place has consistently impressed me, and I have no idea where Walter and I would be without the excellent relationship with Dr. Mcgregor, who has gone above and beyond any Vet’s level of patience to answer my questions and let me know when tests aren’t necessary. The option is always there and up to me but I like knowing I am being told the complete truth. I am very happy with my choice of VCA GLASGOW. Can you tell? Walter is forever thankful as well
Excellent Veterinarian Caring staff . Highly recommend .
My primary vet office was closed and I called over to VCA in Glasgow and I was able to get a same day appointment. If I had known about them sooner I would have switched over a long time ago, their prices are very reasonable and the staff is phenomenal! The veterinarian is very thorough and takes the time to explain the condition your pet has and doesn't just chalk it up to them being old. I will always highly recommend them to anyone that asks about veterinarians in the area.
This was the vet my parents choose for my first dog. With no frame of reference for vet costs prior, I quickly learned vets are extremely expensive. And thus begins our story of the first time I was responsible for paying for vet care. During a routine visit, there's an ever growing list of procedures my dog 'needs' cause his ear and skin has an infection. 'How much is that going to cost?', I asked nervously. Dr. M looked down his nose at me. Pauses. Well you see these tests are very important. What your dog really needs is this $$$$ test, but you could get by... with a couple $$$ tests... Visually condemning me. Out of guilt, I agree to the $$$ tests and a few ear swabs later, he disappears to the back, comes back a few minutes later 'good news! Your dog is basically fine, you all you needs is this $$$ treatment plan! I ask detailed questions about each medicine, which are absolutely vital, what are they for exactly, etc. There was much ado over the added questions and costs, mixed hurried explanations and mild agitation when asked to slow down and repeat. He was breezing through basic dog care intermixed with complicated drug names too quickly for a biomedical engineering student to keep up with. All with the feeling of immense pressure for picking the economical treatment plan. At this time in my life, that bill ended up being over two weeks pay. Feeling like a worthless owner, I had to ask my parents to aid me financially, one of the few times I needed such direct immediate assistance. Moreover, since the medicine was so expensive, I barely did one fourth the dosing to make it last as long as possible. Lo and behold, my dog was fine in a few weeks. Seasonal allergies. Used less than one fourth they medicated supplies. This instilled a fear of going to the vet as I expected to be guilt tripped into paying an exorbitant amount for pet care. I avoided avoided the vet. Then it came time for vaccines. They require a vet exam $$$ and are $$ - $$$ per vaccine, and you need at least three. SPCA does vaccines for $25 x 3 for all your basic vaccine needs. No exam needed. Sadly they have a line out the door by 8 AM and only do it four times a year. This shook the concept of a vet for me. I can afford basic care for my dog? Then I went on Amazon, those pricey medicated ear washes and shampoos I was prescribed are extremely cheap, ten bucks. I could even do proper dosing. Covid came around and suddenly faxing the one script I still needed to Walmart was no longer possible, I had to come in person. I was called many times and explained more than once I have covid, are you sure you want me to come by? Eventually, I ran out of the allergy drug, come to find out, without the allergy meds, my dog has a reaction to the prescribed medicated shampoo! Silver lining, I should switch shampoos. After a lot of back and forth, I learned no refill was allowed for my dogs life long script without another vet visit to the tune of about $150. Who knows what guilt tripping bill would be racked up by the end cause my dog was due for his vaccines, which again costs about 3-4 times the SPCA's flat $25 charge, per vaccine, with the added sales trip of opting for the extra vaccines. That week, I spoke to another vet who's routine exams where ONE THIRD this vets, $50, and would do all the vaccines for $30 each. Slightly more than the SPCA, but available year round. Again, extreme guilt as a dog owner. This time for falling for this ruse for so long. If you have blank checks to spare, and spending extra money on your dog makes you feel like a good owner. By all means. If you are an average guy that watches your wallet, there are much cheaper alternatives. There's a reason they are able to schedule quickly when other vets are booked for weeks.
