Please don't take your animal here. They don't treat them like family. They treat them just like animals with no compassion. This is my 2nd negative experience. I have now found a different emergency hospital to take my animals. They keep you waiting while it's truly a emergency. I was forced to put my dog down due to them not giving me options. It's all about the $ for them. Please don't take any of your animals there.

I had never been here before until my dog got attacked by another dog and we had to bring her in as an emergency. I am thankful to have found this 24 hour animal hospital because the services and the staff are great. After the veterinarian took a good look at her wounds, he recommended that it be best to undergo surgery although he did provide us with a cheaper alternative which was to go on antibiotics. Everything went well and I am so happy that my Lilly girl is in excellent condition now after a 2-3 week healing process. Today we took her for her third visit to get her staples from the surgery removed and I want to thank Dr. Smith for his work and Lauren and Kianna from the front desk who were always extremely kind and helpful when I had questions or concerns. Excellent staff overall, thank you very much!

What's not to love about VCA Lakewood! It's clean and spacious -- and open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, just like a human hospital. So if your buddy needs a vet visit but you work fulltime, you don't have to try and squeeze it in on the weekend. Although it's always helpful to have an appointment, you can literally walk in any time of day or night, which is perfect for a night owl like me!

I enjoy the staff and they took good care of my beautiful 3pound Chihuahua after being hit bye a car., They are very loving and caring it's not all about the money in their eyes... My dog is up and back walking and playing thanks to Dr.Paul and I can't remember her other surgeon. I can't remember her doctor but they are so sweet... Me and Lil Mama Love them all..Thank you for all you have done.. You blessed me to be able to see my dog grow..

We brought my cat here after he started howling in pain and excessively grooming. They took him to back and we waited over an hour before we even knew what was going on. My husband had to ask what was the status on our cat and they said they didn't know at the moment. Finally almost 45 minutes later, a nurse placed us in a room but still no sign of our cat, they brought in his collar and carrier. Ok... That was nerve racking. The doctor came in and gave a list of what was wrong Another nurse came in with a list of things they wanted to do to him including a list of medications. She left and gave the option to continue. It felt like was rushed and a bit pushy. I had enough and paid for the exam. I took my cat to our regular vet a few hours later, which she diagnosed him properly (urine was too concentrated), gave us antibiotics, and pain medication. Now he's doing better. I'm sure they do a good job but this visit made me uncomfortable the entire time and just the amount of things they wanted to do just to figure out a diagnosis was unsettling. I won't be back and found another emergency vet I can go to.
