Our sweet dog was hit by a car 6 months ago and brought to this facility. They asked for $500 up front to examine the dog. I made the mistake of telling the reception that I was I first time dog owner and only wanted what was in our dogs best interest. Our dog was at this vet for less than 48 hours and our bill was over $6,000. This did not cover any surgeries just the doctors exams and some pain medication. The doctors would give us hope that our dog was getting better then required more test to confirm their suspicions. I believe as the experts they claim to be they knew at the first exam our dog would not make it. We decided to put our dog down because her quality of life would be terrible. The office manager was on vacation every time I went in to speak to her about the fees. I did not mind paying part of the bill but what they charged us was highway robbery. In the end we had nothing reimbursed and could not buy our son another dog. I honestly did not feel that the staff cared about our family! They are only interested in making as much money as possible and praying on peoples trama. Be ware! Do not bring your pet here. You will pay outrageous fees!!!

Kind, communicative, friendly, easy, and so on. They took excellent care of my kitty and were so understanding with me even though I was overwhelmed. Very highly recommended.

This is where Vets take THEIR precious pets when they have difficult to diagnose cases. We, in OC are very blessed to have this hospital as an option - FEW other parts of the country have this resource. My husband and I are so grateful! Our cat, Cinnamon. has been one of THE most challenging cases, yet, as a 14 yo cat, he is once again acting like a KITTEN and is happier than ever! HUGE KUDOS to his cardiologist, Dr. April and his Internal Med Specialists, Dr. McDooling and Dr. Cruse. While he has to take several meds, as long as HIS quality of life is joyous, we are joyful! P.S. As a business exec, I completely understand that there is a pure business expense to having access to the cutting-edge medical equipment there and that these Vets have gone to school for MANY EXTRA years. While we are very budget conscious seniors, we understand that we took on the responsibility of our pets' lives and will protect and cherish them to the best of our ability. This ENTIRE VCA STAFF is VERY wonderful and good at calming frayed pet-parents nerves. (THANK YOU!) If your pet is also dealing with a serious health issue, this is the VERY BEST place to go!

My sister brought her dog here, due to hind legs dragging. They said he needed surgery immediately, which will cost roughly $5,000...or put him down. I ended up taking him to a Vet in L.A...known for his honesty and compassion. It turned out, it was just muscle spasms. The Vet kept him at his facility to inject medicine, massage and watch over him. Five days later and under $300, he was back to normal. Recently, my neighbor's dog was chocking on a piece of apple. In frantic mode, they drove to the nearest Vet Hospital...VCA O.C. Vet. It nearly cost them $5,000 to have the apple removed. Since then, more neighbors had had the same experience. It's sad that this Animal Hospital takes advantage of animal lovers who are emotionally distraught and rob them. Their facility should be closed and license revoked.

Way over priced. Educate yourself before you go. I would not recommend. It all feels like a sales pitch.
