Two YEARLY exams? I have a 6 year old Westie whose vet spayed her at 6 months and now almost every spring, she has accidents in the house. We switched to Dr. Ellis on the recommendation of a friend, and he prescribed a hormone several years ago. She takes it when she starts having accidents for a couple of months, every other day. She's 6. I faithfully get her shots, her yearly exam (October) and take her to the vet if she is ill. I called two weeks ago because I ran out of the medication and requested a refill - TWO WEEKS and two follow up messages later, I get a response from Dr. Ellis' assistant that he will fill it ONE MORE TIME. My understanding was that the dog would be on it "as needed" the rest of her life. If there was an advance in the treatment, the doctor would let me know. I buy the medication from Dr. Ellis, I get her shots there and they send postcards constantly for tech visits for Bordatello etc. We'll fill your prescription one more time without letting me know that the doctor is requiring a second exam (last one was 7 months ago) and making my dog wait two weeks for treatment isn't the kind of Dr. I want my dog going to. Peeing in her bed shames and embarrasses her - why would a caring individual make her go through that?

I have gone back and forth about whether or not to post this review but I am a local guide so I feel I would be doing a disservice not to. I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new vet as well as having to have some work done in my apartment I needed to get my two cats out for a couple of hours. I dropped by one afternoon to meet them and arrange this. The front desk receptionist was then and throughout the other times I visited never smiled. I actually felt like she gave me the stink eye....fast forward to the day I brought them in. I met with Dr. Ellis the medical director attended us. I expected they would try and sell me products, VCA always does. The exam went fine and I left them there and agreed to have some bloodwork done for one cat. When I came to pick them up one of my cats was covered (dripping in) urine when I removed him from the crate. This meant I had to traumatize my cat more by bathing him immediately before he could be in the house. I noted that there was no pooled urine in the crate and only a small amount on the blanket. Meaning, he was placed in there that way without any heads up or acknowledgement. Oh yeah, and my crate is now broken. I called about this and expressed my extreme disappointment. The following day the Dr. called me to go over my pet's results. He started by essentially halfway apologizing for the 'moron' who sent my cat home covered in urine "but you gotta walk a mile in my shoes, ya know?" No I don't really. In describing how easy going my cat was during the blooddraw, etc., he told me that my cat "....was so easy going that he could probably chop off his head with a machete and he'd probably just let me do it! hahahah" he said without saying oh I am joking. I mean....really? I was stunned. Truly without words. There were other things in the conversation that were a turn-off related to the care and diagnosis of my cat but this is enough to post. Needless to say I will not return to this veterinarian's office for any reason.

New to area and cat was sick. Got me right in, treated appropriately with labs and xray prior to getting crazy. Staff was so nice especially the doctor. Had to put her to sleep but staff was amazing, time spent making sure i was ok was well beyond the charge. The doctor was compassionate and appeared knowledgeable.
