I took my wedding gown here to get it dry cleaned before my wedding. I had just picked it up from my seamstress who did a beautiful job. The lady behind the counter at Vick's told me to pick it up on Feb 24, which would be exactly one week before my wedding. She told me I had to pay a $100 deposit and sign a waiver. Even though I felt it was odd and quite steep to request $100 for one wedding gown as a deposit, I reluctantly paid. After signing the waiver, I asked her if I should be concerned about the welfare of my dress, as my wedding was one week away. She said she's had "good luck" with wedding dresses. Fast forward. I picked it up on the day/time she said it would be done. I looked at the bow on the dress and it was completely frayed. I was in shock. My mind was racing. What was I to do? In COVID, where would I find a replacement in time for the wedding? I looked at the woman behind the counter and said the bow is completely frayed. She looked and said “oh yeah it is”. Let me call the owner. I could hear the owner over the phone perfectly from where I was standing. She said to the girl, " Yes this can happen sometimes. Just apologize to her, send me a picture". They continue to chat on the phone. I'm completely flabbergasted that there is no compensating me for this or trying in any capacity to resolve this issue. I said to the girl, I paid $100 to you to clean my dress and it's ruined. She said and you owe $57 more. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I said you expect me to pay you $57 more, for a total of $157, for a dress that is now ruined? No way. They have never offered me a refund or an apology. This establishment is beyond unprofessional, unethical, and is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Patrons beware.

I am giving this establishment 2 stars because the ladies that work there are so nice and helpful. My issue is with the cleaning itself. I have been taking my clothes here for years. Over the last year I have had to bring items back 4 times that came back with the same food stains on them as when I brought them in. Even though I show them the spots when I drop the clothing off and ask that they be marked, the clothes come back pressed with the same spots. The last two times I have had the items re-done and they STILL came back dirty.  Another issue, I have dropped off my husband and son’s pants to have them laundered with medium starch. When they come back they are literally like cardboard. You have to peel them apart, and they can stand up by themselves they are so stiff.  Finally, promising clothes back on a particular day and when you arrive they aren’t there yet.  Dry cleaning is too expensive to have to deal with all of this.  Like I said earlier, I really like the ladies that work at this location and they are the only reason I came back as long as I did, but this last issue #4 in a year of getting clothes back dirty even after having them re-clean them was “the straw that broke the camels back”!  I won’t be back. I guess I’ll have to find a new cleaners.
