I attended the hotel for a wedding, which was spectacular and a wonderful venue. However before the ceremony the bridesmaids and bride had their hair and makeup done at this salon. My hair turned out well, close to the picture provided, as did most people in the wedding party. The makeup, however, was a disgrace. The mother-of-the-bride and I had the same technician do our makeup. I provided a picture and after a lengthy appointment I looked NOTHING like the picture. I asked for soft, smoky eyes and I ended up with thick black eyeliner on the top and bottom that was not smoky or smudged in the least. She also was so rough putting it on that my eyes continuously watered as she asked me to hold them open. I am no stranger to makeup application and have never had a problem with someone else applying eye makeup, but this was horrible. I also had thick, large sections of blush on my cheeks that looked very clown-ish. The mother-of-the-bride looked exactly like me when she was done, and we realized our makeup matched that of the technician who applied it. She clearly only has one look that she can perform. When I went up to the suite to see the bride after my appointment she had a look of horror on her face when she opened the door to let me in. We had to take most of the makeup off and tone down everything. This was such a waste of money (not cheap either!) and I would have been much better off doing it myself. The mother-of-the-bride also washed her entire face of makeup off and started new before the ceremony. I will say that a couple of the other bridesmaids and the bride were happy with how theirs turned out, but for this price there needs to be consistency in the service provided by all the technicians.
