The Virginia Aquarium is a great place to go while down at the beach, they have some pretty cool exhibits with animals such as otters, sharks, snakes, turtles, and more. A lot of the aquarium is interactive, which is a great thing for people who want to learn more about the animals or earth in general. The main aquarium is in the building you enter, but to visit the snakes and otters you must walk to a separate building, which on more gloomy days, is not very enticing. The large tanks of fish were beautiful sights, however it seemed like they hype up how many animals will be there. I expected a little bit more than just one or two places you can casually see a few sharks in along with hundreds of other fish. The price is high, but it is a good couple hours spent if you are willing to spend the money. A downside to my visit was the lady we bought tickets from did not hand us back our $10 change, and we did not realize it until after we walked through the aquarium. We had to go back to the desk, and it took them a while to sort through the tills and count out the change and calculate how much they should have, and then she apologized and gave us our money back, however we did overhear that she must have forgotten more change because they were over by more than just our $10. Overall, good place to go if you have the money.

Super fun place! I love aquariums though. It was a bit high in price at $24.99 for 12 & over & $19.99 for 3 through 11...i think it was 3. It is a bit small & you have to walk a good ways outside to another building to see the otters. Seemed strange to me. They have a wonderful man, with special needs, who stamped our hands & took the tickets. Any place that hires people with special needs gets an A+. Thank you guys for a great day filled with memories.

Am I painting the best aquarium I've ever been to! And perhaps the best museum I've ever been to! There's so much for everyone! I might be biased since I worked in his Museum about 20 years ago(some of the bridges and displays I helped build are still there lol) I love the passion that the people who work here radiate with their glowing enthusiasm. Simply a wonderfully enchantingly magical place! There's so much to see and do, I highly recommend if you come here to arrive early in the morning so you can see it all. Don't forget to stop at a ultra awesome gift shop and pick something awesome up!!! And be sure to thank the staff for doing an awesome job!!! ☺️☺️☺️

I visited the Virginia Aquarium with family in September and had a very memorable time. There’s a lot to see and do here. The variety of animals and exhibits is great, and this was the first place we ever touched a sting ray. This aquarium has a LOT of information on the walls and plenty of fun and interactive activities. They cover every aspect of marine life and the oceans. There’s also the adventure park side which you can either drive to or walk to on the wooden paths and bridges through the woods. There they the otters and other river animals, again with plenty of interactive and informational areas. You can definitely spend and entire day here visiting the animals and learning about them all.

There is a lot to do here. We spent the entire day and still didn't see everything. There staff is very know and friendly, and the displays are engaging with many being interactive. There undersea aquarium is short, but visually stunning and well worth it. There shark tank allows for great viewing angles with a large variety of fish. The stingray petting tank was a favorite because of the friendliness of the stingrays. They swim right up to your hand. It can be expensive for larger families, but considering you can spend a whole day, it is worth it. They have a restaurant that was nice to get something to eat so we could spend more time there.
