It's your average middle-class neighborhood park. Surrounded by a swath of desert habitation, swirled in with sod grass, native and non-native trees and vegetation, the occasional weeds, and a gazebo to the east, more desert habitation to the west along with a huge open grass field with a random dotting of trees, a decent playground, a basketball court (one hoop) and plenty of sidewalk space, it's a great place to walk your dog, exercise your kids, and just enjoy the views of Rio Rancho High School, the Sandia Mountains and parts of the north-central rolling mesa near Rio Rancho's city center. It's also within a fair walking distance to some areas along Southern Blvd. and some areas along NM 528 and High Resort Blvd. There is no direct sidewalk access from the park to the main public sidewalk that runs along Broadmoor and along Nicklaus, but it's not too hard to access either (there's a traffic light with crosswalks that most drivers obey at the western terminus of High Resort Blvd.) It's a nice place to be. It's also fairly artistic from satellite view.

My review of: Vista Sandia Park in Rio Rancho, New Mexico This park is listed under the different name of Park side Park on Google maps. When I got there, this is the sign that I saw with the new name. This park is on the top of a hill, it overlooks the valley to the mountains to the East. it has covered and uncovered picnic tables. A water fountain and thick green grass. We saw robins in this park. The play ground is covered in wood chips and the equipment is a little faded but great. My husband and children went GAGA for the rocket ship play equipment. A park goer says that it has been here for 15 yrs. I love the rocket too. There is a bench with lots of buttons to push on the inside, and tubes to crawl through. I hope they never get rid of it. There is a unique speak and say play toy there. You spin a wheel and when a weird spacey noise comes on you say something and then the machine repeats what you said back to you in a funny deep voice. That got the family vote that this is an AWESOME park! It has a small parking lot, a half basket ball court, but no restrooms.
