Story

On July 24, 1947, Carl Waibel, Sr. opened Waibel Electric as a radio and electric shop. The first office was located on Whittier Street in Columbus, Ohio. Shortly after, Carl Sr. was joined by his brother, Al Waibel. The brothers worked together until 1950.

In 1948, Carl’s cousin, Bob Waibel, began working at Waibel Electric. In 1960, the two went into partnership together. This partnership continued until 1976.
In 1969, Carl Waibel, Jr. joined his father and cousin as an employee.

After spending the next 14 years learning the business, Carl Jr. bought Waibel Electric in 1983. His brother Mark joined the company in August 1972 and has served the company as Residential Service Manager since 1984.

The third generation of Waibels is now working for Waibel Electric - Carl Jr.’s son, Carl Waibel III, and Mark’s son, Andy Waibel.

Terrific and I did not end up using their service.  To explain, I had a short in a residential circuit.  I replaced the breaker but that did not work.  I checked the boxes on the circuit an nothing was wrong.

That is the extent of my electrical ability so I called three companies.  The first two were internet listings and both answered by phone mail.  I have yet to hear from either.  I  then called Waibel Electric since, I have seen their trucks around for years.

To my surprise a real person answered the phone and was able to verify that they would make a service call for my problem.  She passed me on to the service supervisor.  He took the time to ask me the nature of the problem.  He then asked whether I had an attic or whole house fan.  He explained they often are the culprit.  Sure enough that was the problem causing the short.  I was able to fix it myself not requiring a service call this time.   I really appreciate the professionalism and help extended over the phone and will call / recommend Waibel if I ever am asked for a referral or need electrical help.  This kind of professionalism is rare. The least I could do was follow up on my very positive experience.

Great company all around.  They were willing to work around our schedule on the day of the appointment, and Russell did a fantastic job and was able to fix and install every item we wanted to.  The price was also very reasonable.
