Let's start with the service.  The staff really cares about the patrons.  We were immediately helped and everyone seems happy. 
Drinks are well-made and prices are reasonable.  
We were seated in 5 minutes on a Friday night.  The place was full but the tables are nicely spaces and not over crowded.  Food arrived quickly and was above par.

My wife and I love this place.... found it like 2 yrs ago... tucked away on a quite street in downtown Rahway.... great food and kick ass drinks... definitely worth your time

Love this place. A local favorite. Their spanktown drink is a yummy bourbon, and their wings satisfy the soul. The desserts aren't  great, but the menu's pretty eclectic and the space is family friendly.

If you are looking for the classic jersey bar experience for a great price the Waiting Room is ideal. Service is always good, they keep some great craft beers and they are always welling to channel the channel in the TV's.

The Waiting Room can really be called a Rahway institution.  In its second location, a converted 5 & 10 cent store, it is a large, bar/restaurant with a true hometown feeling.   Full bar with a good selection of draught beers and a menu of bar foods to full dinners.   In the early evenings you will find families with children at tables; after 9PM the crowd shifts to more of an adult crowd.  On weekends don’t miss the colossal boiled shrimp cocktail in he shell..... sold by the piece.  You are apt to find local business owners, town officials, school teachers and your neighbors all in a mixed crowd.   Everyone seems welcome and at home at the Waiting Room!
