Historic Washington County Courthouse is a beautiful building on the 2nds Street side at Main and Second.  This place has dispensed a LOT of justice in the past 100 years.  Some of it pretty Tough stuff.  The tough job of enforcing the law is in the hands of those who work here.  Used to be the Old Jail - now it is mostly judges chambers, criminal records, and Courts!  It is a beehive of activity for sure!  The grounds are home to Tuesday Market and alive with people- the Redwoods most historic no doubt about it!

SUPER rude people. Only got one star because I had to give something. I don't care that you work at a courthouse and are "security", you can still be nice to people especially when they weren't rude or disrespectful towards you. That does not give you an excuse to be rude to the public. They need to fix their attitude or find a new job. Don't go here unless you HAVE to.

Trying to get anything done through the small claims department here is a joke! Saying that Caroline (I think that's her name) has a giant chip on her shoulder would be a complete and total understatement. Her and her supervisor Stella seem to arbitrarily decide what goes through and what doesn't; finding issues with the most ridiculous of things and changing how to do things from day to day. I must stress that this is not said out of ignorance of our wonderful county’s procedures, things truly do change from day to day or possibly mood to mood. I don't often complain about places, especially state or government agencies, as they really aren't typically known for their customer service abilities (though according to other reviews and personal experience, many other employees at this county are quite the exception to this). However, these two truly take the cake. Please dear county of Washington, do all of us a favor that are trying to work within your system and please release these two. Or at least teach them that being helpful or at least decent pays far greater rewards than treating people poorly and making things unnecessarily difficult.
