I wish I could put 0 stars...

When you look for an apartment, you are in search of a new home. A roof over your head. A place to love and feel safe at. Marjorie doesn't care about that.

Her aloof, apathetic vibe is not just a vibe. It's who she is.

Marjorie will show you apartments but NOT work further than that with you. She sits on her ass in her office and doesn't do ANYTHING. She charges you a 15% fee and asks you to print and scan your own documents. And when you tell her you are busy because you are working 20 hours in the next two days, she starts pouting and just flat out ignores you and lies to you to make you go away (in our instance, she told us the application was not a good fit for the landlord. Bullshit. We have been approved for more expensive apartments since then and in the past. She probably NEVER even opened the documents I sent to her. She told me herself it was too big and too long and too much work).

Don't work with her. Save your money and RUN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.

Wow, what a horrible, horrible experience.  I suppose this is a good place to deal with if a deal was actually on the table, but trying to get someone to work for you is impossible.  I called almost everyday to ask about an apartment and I was reassured that I was being kept in mind, that they have my name and number and will let me know.  Yet, I walk by the storefront and new listings pop up on their window or I find a listing or two on streeteasy and other websites.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I'm going to allow a broker to take a big fee for helping me find a place, could you at least work for me?  Do I really have to pester you everyday and not be notified when a place has opened up?  Is following through with someone who has spoken to you numerous times on the phone and met in person that hard for you to do?  It's just common business sense.  We work with a handshake and a smile take care of people that are serious about finding a place.

 I suppose the market is so good right now that they don't feel the need to work for you.  I'll happily take my money to the big companies ... at least they understand the whole concept of doing a service for a fee.
