Weaverville Hotel & Emporium

About

The hotel has been providing hospitality since 1861! As for our great little emporium, people who say you can't buy happiness don't know where to shop!

Story

The Weaverville Hotel and Emporium has within a two block radius, a gym (guests have gym privileges), 2 coffee houses, several good restaurants, an antique store, several art galleries, the historic Chinese Joss House, and the Jake Jackson Museum and Blacksmith. There are several interesting shops as well, including our own Emporium featuring fine chocolates, sterling silver jewelry, European and American soaps and fragrances, a great selection of women's clothing, and other great gift ideas for every pocketbook.

The hotel, originally built in 1861, was last rebuilt in 1880 after burning to the ground. We have painstakingly restored it to the original high ceilings and wood floors, attempting to recapture as much of the original charm as possible. The building is on the National Register of historic places. In fact this entire end of town is on the National Register.

Please be informed that the building is a smoke-free environment. There are swings and rocking chairs along the side of the building where guests are welcome to smoke if they wish. Also, lots of books available, but if you really need a T.V. in your room, this might not be the place for you.

Wonderful place to relax. If you are looking for a romantic getaway for the two of you this is the place to go. The rooms are warm and inviting, each with a fireplace and tub. Downstairs is a parlor with a large window where you can people watch or sit, enjoy a cup of coffee and watch it snow. Restaurants and coffee houses are within walking distance, so are antique shops and art galleries. The Weaverville Hotel and Emporium offers a peaceful reprieve from everyday life.

Classic feel, with modern comforts. The proprietor's (husband and wife) were down stairs, hands on with the guest's. Answering not only hotel and gift shop questions, but many other questions we had about the history of the town and the outlying area. All in all, a terrific experience I hope to repeat in multiple seasons. Great job!!!

Warm hospitality, luxurious decor, cozy sheets, & a sparkling amber fire. Historic photographs on every wall, telling a long forgotten story. I have spent four nights here, and as I sit in my pure, snow white, silken sheets, admiring the room before me, I know in my hart, I will truly miss this enchanting palace. I've just kicked off my little slippers, nestled in bed, after a wonderful champagne bathtub experience, fine chocolates and a good cup of tea. Thank you Jeanne, for sharing your gem, with us, & so many more. For a time to unwind, relax, and free yourself from the world is a priceless gift. Thank you for the lovely experience. This is an exquisite jewel in the heart of an old gold mining town. The owner's love of this beautiful building is glaringly apparent by all the small details that only come from truly caring about their customers and the history of the hotel. Our crisp linen sheets were folded down, a delicious truffle was waiting for us when we arrived and a warm glow from an old antique lamp made us feel as though we were long awaited friends in from out of town. It was incredibly delightful.

This is a very elegant and classy hotel in a very beautiful and quaint little town. You will love the gift shop and the rooms are all furnished with period Antiques. The owners Bryon and Jeanie Muir are lovely people.
