Awesome place! The view was incredible, the rooms were great. The wood burning stove and Jacuzzi were a very nice touch. It made for a very special and relaxing weekend. We did get one of the rooms on the top of the hills which I think are a little be nicer, but didn't see the ones below. Regardless, we though it was well worth it and plan on coming back. The owners were very warm and welcoming, like an old fashion kind of way. I would very much recommend it to anyone. It was very much a first class operation. Anders

Always love staying here! A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Great rooms, great views, no cell service, spotty/slow wifi (which in this case is a good thing). Fireplaces in rooms, private hot tubs or Jacuzzis are always lovely. The sauna is a nice plus too! Owners/staff are wonderful and very accommodating. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an escape from the city. Bring your own food, and be prepared to microwave or grill it (it's a good 20 min drive to the nearest restaurant)! My wife and I have been staying here for years, and will continue to visit for years to come.

This hotel is a great escape while still keeping comfort in mind. I just stayed two nights in one of the king rooms and couldn't have been happier. The bed was more comfortable than I've had in high end Hilton hotels. The linens are soft and there are enough to load up the bed if that's your style (I like the weight on me). The rooms face the ocean and have a set of deck chairs so you can sit out and watch and hear the waves. There isn't much to detract from the experience, the road is just far enough removed and the location spread out enough that you really don't get bothered by distractions. The rooms come with a free-standing fireplace and wood ready to start up a comfortable fire and if that's not your idea of fun/relaxation a normal heater is included to keep the rooms at just the right temperature. There is a community sauna and hot tub but the king rooms come with their own 3~4 person hot tubs / spas that enjoys the same incredible ocean view. I spent my first evening eating steak and corn I cooked on the BBQ while I watched a beautiful sunset and then moved into the hot tub while the moon glided across the sky and the stars came out. There are limitations prospective lodgers should be aware of and are outlined on the website, will be discussed with the front desk, and a full list of which is emailed to people on their reservation. Each room has a microwave and a BBQ (briquettes provided as part of the room) and that is the extent of the cooking options and you need to bring your own utensils, dishes, and cooking supplies. This wasn't a problem for me, I came prepared. The closest restaurant is about 12 miles away on the same road you took to get there (not a fast trip) and there are more options the further you go. There is a small market just up the hill but I've not visited it. The rooms come with a limited set of english and spanish channels provided by one of the satellite TV companies but there is no cellular service within a few miles (north and south on the highway). The owners are expanding WiFi service to include all of the rooms but their Internet service is slow and can't supposed streamed services like NetFlix of Spotify (pull too much data and it will kick you off the network automatically for 3~5 minutes). I will be going back for another solo trip next Winter and my wife and I are planning on going in a year for our anniversary.

Upon arriving, Chris and Alicia greeted us warmly. They were friendly and personable each and every time we ran into them. The room we chose had fantastic views and was well maintained, nothing way out of whack, and all was to be expected. The private spa was fantastic, clean and always warm. We utilized the included BBQ along with the charcoal and tools. Everything worked perfectly. The only thing missing in the room, which had a great bungalow type feel was a range and oven...oh, and a butler. The view was phenomenal and the grounds were fantastic. Soggy grass kept us from wandering too much, but we saw others head out towards the beach. The only nit was the wifi: it was spotty at best. Frankly, if you're sitting with these views and wonderful accommodations, unplug and unwind. There's no better place.
