West Rock Ridge State Park

I love how close this is to the city! It's great to have a nice hike so close to my apartment. Being able to plunk myself into the middle of the woods after a long week of school work and classes is a blessing. Try to go on a weekday during the school year! I went on a Wednesday when my lab was cancelled and I was nearly the only one in the park. It was surreal!

The parking lot expansion(s) of the past few ears have allowed a lot more people experience the serenity of a walk around Lake Wintergreen. Can't been a free walk in the woods. Just wish the fishing was as good as it was before the built the dam.

Love this mountain/escarpment. My daily getaway with the pup when not in the mood for over populated Edgewood park.

Amazing place to hike, just wish there was more park staff monitoring smaller trails where homeless people hide out and sleep. Isn't exactly safe!
