Story

We serve up tasty farm-to-kitchen dishes and cocktails, all made from scratch with ingredients sourced from local and regional farms and markets. We use slow-cooking methods on our wood grill and spit and in our smoker because it tastes better that way. Come dine with us at our communal tables, in one of our booths, on our sofas or rocking chairs, or perhaps on the porch next to the fireplace.

Kris was an excellent server. Attentive, friendly, outgoing, and very knowledgeable about the beers. I let her pick my flight (which is a sampling) and her choices after telling her what I usually like was very good. My husband had the brisket steak which was a little salty for my taste but he loved it, and I had the salmon which was excellent. For appetizers we had the deviled eggs and duck wings (a bit heavy on the sauce and again salty but good underlying flavor), and a side of the adult mac n cheese which was very good. The portions look small for the price, but are very filling. Would recommend this venue.

This was our first visit to Whiskey Cake; the first thing you notice when you walk into Whiskey Cake is the restaurant is a beautiful mix of modern and vintage decor. Employees are all hip and beautiful looking. This is definitely a restaurant I’d like to re-visit when I go to OKC. I love how everything is so fresh and how the food is presented. I loved the interesting farm to table concept. Would like to go back and try a few more items. I had the pork brisket over cheddar grits and being a southern born & breed girl, I can honestly say these were the BEST grits I have ever had. Pork was juicy & tender, flavors complimented each other beautifully. Decor was trendy just like the staff. Polite and patient staff, clean restrooms and dining room. Portions were large, food was fresh. We had an outstanding dining experience.

Knowledgeable bartenders who take pride in their hand crafted cocktails - Jam Session (gin grapefruit lemon agave & raspberry ale) for the win! Goat cheese fondue was to die for with olives, roasted tomatoes and sweet garlic served with grilled sourdough toast points. Whiskey cake dessert to-go, yet to be devoured. Even the glass of ice water had a cucumber slice - Well done, you.

Definitely will never come back. We walk in and they get us ready for a table, a gentleman proceeds to take us to one and asks us if we have ever been here before. Our response "No" he then take us to a small table and says "well enjoy" this table we got put at was only about a 3 foot round table. We start to look around and realize that there are other open tables. We complain and we move. Come to find out those tables are what's called a "over flow table" I get it, but why in hell take us to the when you know we are new and there are tables there that are available? Makes no since. First impression are everything.

The pork, egg, and grit is delicious. I can tell it is wood fire cooking. Pork steak has wonderful taste of smoke flavor. I believe it is apple wood flavor. I am not big fan of grit. Grit actually good. I ate the whole grit.
