I had a terrible time with this company. I decided to go with them after reading positive review online and the lady at the office was very kind on the phone, however when moving day rolled around, my experience was truly awful. Three guys came to move me. I didn’t even have that much stuff to move but it took them forever. They took frequent breaks and would just be standing outside not doing anything. When I asked about this I was told that time wasn’t on the clock.

My new apartment was less than a 20 minute drive away but I waited for them to get there for 50 minutes. To my delight they showed up sloppy DRUNK. Alcohol on their breath, ridiculously unprofessional behavior, yelling in the street, throwing punches at one another. I couldn’t believe it. It was embarrassing. One of the movers THREW MY TV out of the back of the truck at the other worker trying to hit him. I had broken and scuffed furniture, bowls, and other belongings. I had to ask them multiple times to get their act together and act like adults as they were yelling in my hallway. They were threatening to kill each other and cussing up a storm.

The next day, I called one of the owers, Ed, and complained about what happened. I asked for a partial refund as I was charged $928 for extremely sub-par service. He told me we would take an hour of time off which is around $190. That was December 2. I called again last week and he promised it would be reimbursed but I haven’t recieved it and doubt I ever will. 

Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. If I could give them negative stars I would.

I can't begin to say how impressed I was with our whole experience using Windy City Movers. My husband and I hate moving and have never before used movers, but this time we knew we needed help. The scheduling ladies on the phone were polite and informative. The real stars of the show were our team of movers, Dave, Pierson, and Jake. I got a call in the morning to confirm their arrival, they were promptly on time, and after a quick tour of our 2 bedroom apartment, they got straight to work. They were like machines! Barely stopped at all, despite the rather sticky August heat. It did take a while, but I put the blame for that squarely on our shoulders for having too much stuff and not starting to pack far enough in advance to actually get rid of s*** we didn't need.

We were unlucky and all hit some rather bad traffic getting out to the suburbs to the new house, but that is out of everyone's control. The unload time went much faster as they were no longer dealing with a third-floor walk-up. The entire time they were working, they were courteous, friendly, and on-task. None of them were afraid to speak up and ask me questions about what I wanted, which has ensured that unpacking has started smoothly. Nothing that I've seen so far has been chipped, scratched, or otherwise damaged. The team made our move more of a breeze than I would have ever expected. Thanks to all involved!

We have used Windy City Movers in the past and also used them for a small job.  Danny, Steve B and Travis from Windy City Movers were excellent.   They wrapped the table and buffet and boxed the chairs.   They dismantled our old furniture and moved it to the garage.  There was no damage done to any furniture or walls.  I highly recommend Windy City Movers.

I highly recommend Windy City Movers for all of your Moving or Storage needs. I have used them several times and have not been disappointed. 
They are trustworthy, fair in prices and dependable. I did not have to worry about them as they handled all of my items very carefully and were pleasant to deal with.

Ed, Sherri and Dawn were all wonderful.

I stored my furniture with Windy City Movers for a year. I asked about insurance  for my things, but was told that it wasn't necessary because he, the owner, had the only key to my storage. Two weeks ago when my items were delivered to me there were two valuable items missing.  One was the base of a custom made coffee table and one was an oriental carpet.

The owner, Ed said he would look for the missing items, but he has never called me and will not answer my calls or my emails.

I am considering taking this matter to small claims court.
