Story

The Wisconsin Athletic Club is the largest and most respected privately owned athletic club in Wisconsin. Founded, and in continuous operation since 1976, the WAC now has seven club locations in West Allis, Waukesha, Greenfield, Wauwatosa, Downtown, the North Shore and Menomonee Falls. The WAC is consistently upgrading our equipment, services and facilities to meet our evolving member needs. Our goal is to make fitness both valuable and fun for our members, with convenient hours - including the first 24 hour health club in Milwaukee. We offer a wide variety of classes, lessons, personal training and group fitness programs for all levels up to senior. Our health and fitness programs have been honored nationally and endorsed locally with over 200 corporate wellness affiliations. This is a great health club. They offer a great range of classes included with your fees and you always have the option to work out on your own. Their trainers are great and some of their success stories are awesome. They WAC really makes an effort to make you feel welcomed and offer things like a chili cook-off, drinks at the club bar during Packer games. A viewing party on Monday for The Bachelor. I would highly recommend. Note that they also offer a discount for those younger than 29, as well as a couples discount.

I've been going a little over a month now. I usually go first thing in the morning when they open up. I have tried other times during the day and it gets busy really quick. The locker rooms are probably the cleanest I've ever seen at a club. And the staff is very nice.

The good: Friendly staff, specifically the trainers. Very personable and warm. Lots of equipment options as well, and a good amount of free cardio classes. 
The bad:
At some point you need to put a cap on how many members you have or sell different time slots... It is a mad house here lately.  Or maybe open a second location nearby to accommodate a more comfortable crowd level. Secondly,  unless there are a handful of people at the gym, the wireless is useless. At the price point, and given the vast number of members I observe, the maintenance on the equipment should be priority, meaning every trendmill or cardio machine should be in good working order, breakdowns are understandable...but its been months that several of them have some function that doesn't work. The lack of up keep is starting to show, I think this is in large part due to the number of members they have.

I was visiting from out of state for several days and wanted to keep on track. I was able to purchase a day pass for $10, which I did twice. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The place was clean, energetic and had a good vibe. I wish I lived nearby so I could be a member!

I like this WAC the best. Spaced out nicely,  has a warm feeling to it.
