The Woods Memorial Library, which opened in 1968 and was renovated in 1998, is an anchor for the Amphi neighborhood, serving one of the most diverse cultural, racial, and socio-economically communities in Tucson.

The 16,650 square foot library serves as a community center for families, as well as teens and children independently, and hosts numerous library programs and community assistance programs and workshops.

The library, which has the second highest number of visitors in the library system, was named in honor of G. Freeman Woods who served as a Tucson City Councilman for eight years, was a Flowing Wells School Board member for six years, and served on the library advisory board.

They have recently changed up all the computers and no longer have an Express. There were two expresses which were 15 minutes long just right if you want to jump on and have to print out something. They no longer have those . Today I went in to print something out when I went to sign in there was 15 other request for computers pretty much the children that are hanging around the library. I asked if I could get on a computer just to print out insurance cards and was told no I would have to sign up and wait ridiculous!!! So much for a public library it's much more daycare now a days and not a quiet one either. These children that are dropped off after school they're allowed to get on for an hour and as long as they are off for an hour they can get back on for an hour all day long how is anyone supposed to get any time on the computer? I don't know who came up with this plan but it isn't workable for some of us PUBLIC TAX PAYING users.

Nice selection! Pros: This library is one of my favorites. They have computers dedicated for job searching and a fairly large selection of books. It also has a nice space for kids as well. The bulletin board is filled with activities that are going on in the library and in the community. The staff is friendly and willing to assist. The books get checked in fast once they are returned. This is always a bonus! Cons: There's a limited amount of study rooms, and they are frequently used. Plus there's very few tables and chairs, so your book browsing will be limited. Overall, a nice selection of books to choose from.

Good. This is a very well used branch library. Lots of seniors during the day and lots of kids after school. You need to get to know the libraries you wish to use. Like most, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I believe Pima County has 26 libraries.

Very helpful staff! Kelly was an especially good resource for the oddly specific books I was looking for. I hope that they get more funding to expand the library further!
